Did anyone else, like me, panicking, book a flight on the weds from Stansted, returning to London City on the Friday- both with connecting flights om Milan? And want to hold my hand and pray that we make the connecting flights after it gave a 'short transfer time' AFTER I booked it.

I did and got one! Went for it. It is my birthday this week after all. Booked a flight that's stops off at Milan that only has an hour and a half transfer time..... now I'm immediately panicking about that.
