Interesting comments from TtY but I still worry that Sherwood won't be able to work under the financial constraints a club in the Championship with no parachute payments experiences. It'll be very different from Spurs, even if they don't splash it around like City and Chelsea. I don't want a 3rd...
A fair point and reasonably put. What I would say in response is we don't know what other options were around within the budget Burke was given to do his scouting.
And I remember enough people on NSC getting stiffys about Obika on the strength of 6 (?) reserve goals for Charlton to indicate...
Not sure I agree. The alternative can mean a manager agreeing all sorts of expensive shite just to sign a player they've got the hots for, completely screwing up the budget and before you know it, hello Portsmouth or even the Albion after 83/4. Having the structure we have reduces this risk. It...
Quite. If Burke is given a budget to work with and has limited movement beyond that without clearing it with Barber/ Bloom, pointing the finger at him for some of the transfer issues is plain daft.
If Burke has to conduct transfer negotiations with a finite pot of money and clear matters with Barber/Bloom; we can't really point the finger at him for the failure to - for example - sign Grabban.
Compared to some games this season that was - IMHO - no mess. Completely different result but much better shape and approach than Yeovil home game - to take a recent e.g.
They were REALLY quick on the break and that killed us, even if both goals were a bit streaky. 2nd half they had enough confidence not to be so aggressive on the counter and we didn't have enough guile to break them down. How much of that was due to Buckley being injured (again!! Time for the...
Won't there be space behind the N Stand when staff in the offices there move to Lancing at some point later this year? Wouldn't massively increase the capacity but might add an odd 1-2 thousand without anything major structurally in terms of building works.
Out for rest of season. His attacker given the boot by Port Vale. Apologies if fixtures; not seen any other thread about this.

Only just caught this thread. A great read.
Highlights for me so far:-
Keith Dublin: favourite radio programme - LWR (an old 80's London Soul Pirate Radio station - cool!)
Fred Binney: What would you be if you weren't a footballer? "Very disappointed" :)
I just think when he starts he doesn't make the same impact because he has to fit in with a game plan, like covering for the full back or whatever, which he's not so good at. Then he gets frustrated and starts diving all over the place!
