Hypothetical situation - Fati gets fit, leaves Barca by mutual consent, and makes moves to come to Brighton on very reasonable wages on, say, a two year deal. Would you take him? Genuine question.
Imo you get a better gauge of how fans feel about a player at games. Fati got some decent receptions even when it was clear the loan wasn’t working out. Fans desperately wanted him to succeed and I doubt many wish the worst for Fati .
“fantastic football “? Oh come on . Injuries were not his fault , sure, but he was a massive disappointment from start to finish . Let’s not try and pretend otherwise .
And I’m sure most Albion fans wish him well . It was just a gamble that didn’t pay off
He’s doing well.
A career in the Championship is better than a lot of his Albion contemporaries.
A couple of years ago I thought he was most likely to slip out of the picture.
Good on him.
No. We opted not to have an overseas for the one day cup.
So it’s a chance for the fringe players. It’ll be interesting to see which take their chance.
Such a shame that thread has gone.
The self-righteousness of the Connolly pack was something to behold.
If you were pro-loan you clearly hated him and knew nothing about football.
Swansman‘s valuation of WBG is mental, not as mental as Napoli’s though.
I hope he stays as he is close to being a high end player. He just needs to improve (ahem, start) his goal count. Fine margins. People mention McTominay - not so long ago he was a non-scoring midfielder.
Right decision.
He has done well enough to leave with his head held high.
Glad he’s been spared what would have come his way if he’d stayed as fundamentally he is a good man.
You dont need to be fat to look terrible in a modern kit. Only athletes can pull it off.
Bring back the 90s roomy shirts. My TSB Gary O’Reilly shirt still fits well (and Byrne-era NOBO tesco carrier bag).
