I do hope he gets his career on track (there were early signs pre injury at hull, that he was getting there)
We have been saying this for 4 seasons; he's 24 now. For whatever reason he does not have the ability to suceed at the higher level. I'm sure there will be a L1 or L2 club or two which is a little bit dazzled by the fact he's a former EPL player and offers him a deal with the belief they can sort him out and get a bargain. This is about as far as I can see him going.

Personally, I think that Connolly only has himself to blame for what has happened to his career. He had all sorts of opportunities here, but he didn't take them. You can lead a horse to water, but you can not make them drink. Unfortunately, Connolly led himself to drink.
Really?

Surely we, ie the Albion, were culpable in some way, we plucked him from little old Galway put him in the first team, two goals get the Spurs boss the sack, the media and fans turn him into 'Peter Ward incarnate', we then put his wages up overnight and he moves next door to Shane Duffy.

And then expect him to behave like Daniel Radcliffe...........

Everywhere he’s been, from Albion to Venice to ‘boro to Hull, he’s struggled for form. Not sure the Albion can shoulder much blame to be honest.

I think the censors would rate it higher than PG, tbh.
I think I missed out one of these;

Exactly. As some of us said (on here) he should have gone on loan much earlier than he finally did. The January after that debut game would have been good.
Such a shame that thread has gone.
The self-righteousness of the Connolly pack was something to behold.
If you were pro-loan you clearly hated him and knew nothing about football.

He's from a nice small town on the outskirts of Galway...

But we possibly set him up into thinking he was something he wasn’t. 🤷‍♂️
Maybe. But that Spurs game was a long time ago and assuming Brighton had set him up to think he was something he wasn’t, there’s been plenty of reality checks since. He’s even said so himself. He’s 24 now, old enough to reflect on the past and make suitable adjustments; he can still enjoy a career as a footballer regardless of what Brighton did or didn’t do to him. All’s not lost as some* seem to think; the EPL is not the be-all-and-end-all.

*I don’t include you in this last sentence.

My apologies I was under the impression he was from the more salubrious part of Dublin, that said coming to England and then being paid relatively vast amounts of money must have been a real culture shock.

Aaron has been playing top level football and being well paid for it since he was a teenager. If he gets a contract with Sheff Utd then this will likely carry onto until his late twenties. Its a decent career. He also hasn't kicked a ball for the Albion for nearly three years now. Still arguing about loans and Spurs and long contracts and Brighton nightclubs - all with the benefit of hindsight - is fine of course - but its really been done to death on here.

A 2-3 year contact with any club will equate into a really decent, and above average, footballing career.

Perhaps, but there is such a thing as professionalism even at a young age. There were plenty of ‘model’ professionals as well, not just Duffy to cling to, but I get the Irish connection. I didn’t see Molumby getting in trouble during that period and big things were expected of him.

Plenty of young players before him have managed it, and whilst it’s popular Brighton is not London
