Absolutely agree .. the days of reasoning are long gone (if indeed they ever applied to a large minority) But I understand that France and Greece (and perhaps others) are saying if not double jabbed than restrictions (bars, restaurants, sports etc) will apply and as a consequence vaccine rates...

[Brighton] Roy Grace coming to ITV next year

The book was good, but I agree that TV episode was pants. I came away thinking they crammed it in to 90 minutes (or whatever) and missed large chunks of plot/character which might have made it better (maybe!)

Well done them. If there are medical reasons that prevent someone having it so be it, otherwise we should mandate as best we can imo. From my limited experience (2!) those that aren't having it are those that just don't give a fukk, they know they are OK and don't give a toss about others...

Jeez ... send him a pic of a recessed manhole cover, tell him to buy and fit it and then you might pay. I suspect the rest of it is pretty horrid too

    PCR Tests for travel: recommendations?

Doesn't matter where you fly from given you need to take the test 48/72 hours before departure. There's a BA discount code to use for Express which comes out at £60. (see ba.com) It's drive through and in South terminal long term car park

Totally, it's just headline numbers that are readily published. Would really like to see hospitalisations/deaths with some context around it e.g 1/2 vaccination/age

Dyson V8 (or something) works brilliantly (so I'm told) but you really do have to clean the filters regularly (seemingly)

    [Travel] Holiday plans this summer?

I've got no direct experience of these round UK cruises but have done 5 or 6 in Med and Caribbean. I thought the UK ones might be a bit of fun/interesting but was put off by the fact they all seemed to be offering free booze. Could be wrong but I can see the headlines now

"I would prefer my immune system to tackle it naturally rather than have a synthetic replication of it that I don't need injected into my body every year" So it isn't in the pursuit of good research after all ... just that you don't want to have the 'synthetic replication'. Maybe they've...

I couldn't agree more. Unfortunately I think there's a sizable minority of a similar view. Yet they expect help and support if and when needed, regardless of the risk they pose to others

[Other Sport] Golf - do you play?

Yes, at Seaford but definitely a fair weather golfer. Enjoy it and it's my gesture to exercise. Find it a bit cliquey which can be bothersome when looking for a game

    [Help] Strimmer advice

I got this, admittedly the lawn mower first (which was the best reviewed I could see) and then the strimmer and later the hedge trimmer neither of which I needed the battery for as they are all interchangeable. Used the strimmer several times and the wire has been faultless...
