Made the pilgrimage to Bushy today, after visiting friends in Putney last night. Lovely course - 1100 runners so 196th is not so bad! Good to have a chat with a (local) family wearing their BHA gear.

Weren't they good? I don't know their stuff that well but I was spellbound for the full two hours. Got to be the oldest and most joyful audience I've ever been part of though!! Looking forward to Mouldy Bob on Thursday now.

Drive By Truckers tonight and Bob Mould Thursday and I think I have then used up all multiple backlog of COVID postponements. Going to be a tough week for the ears!

It was a case of ‘getting the band back together’ at Hove Park this morning with appearances by knocky1, Greg Bobkin, Ninja Elephant and ben Elton’s Brother. big nuts you should have been there! A set of atypical finishing times which may have been impacted by pacing, injury, turning up late...

Mrs Simgull is RD a at Hove Park on Saturday, so the opportunity to see a rejuvenated knocky1 in action and see Greg Bobkin for the first time since pre-Covid means I think I know where I’ll be on Saturday!

And a discount for 2023 entry - tempted? It’s actually on my birthday next year but I think I’ll stick to the water station!

    [Other Sport] Brighton Marathon - 10th Year !! 🏃*♂️

I think it’s a fair point, a simple thank you email would be appropriate. There is a nice message on their Facebook page - worth a look at for the appreciative comments from the runners as well. https://www.facebook.com/130296107032228/posts/5260305617364559/?d=n

    [Other Sport] Brighton Marathon - 10th Year !! 🏃*♂️

Had a great day managing the water stand Roedean at mile 7.5. The weather really helped of course along with a great team of 14 volunteers including one from on here (thanks again but I can’t remember your user name!), plus dazzer6666 was just along the road - he’s handy with a broom you know...

[Misc] From the Adur Centre in Shoreham...

If I remember correctly there is a sign by the bridge saying the path (going south)is closed - so possibly both. It looked like some fairly heavy duty engineering equipment in the field - I don’t know any more than that thoug oh and this was a month ago or so..

[Misc] From the Adur Centre in Shoreham...

Depends how far you want to go but here some routes - you can download these onto a running watch. The cuckoo's corner path has been closed for some time but you can just use Coombe Road if necessary. I'd recommend going up via LAncing College, Lancing ring and Steep Down such as in the first...

Is anyone doing Brighton Marathon on Sunday? Give me a wave at Roedean water station (7.5 miles) if you are. I’ll be the one with a radio (and panicked expression).

Woolacombe Dunes parkrun on my birthday today. What a stunning course - beautiful run along the beach. Apparently the second hardest course in the country (after Great Yarmouth) including the ‘Dune of Doom’ in the second half!! Happy with 11th place and an age category win.

Just giving this a quick bounce. One week to go and any more volunteers would be very much welcomed. Weather forecast is currently looking ok, if that helps persuade anyone! Many thanks https://groundedevents.rosterfy.com/invite/indivdualvolunteerinvite

[Football] Strange Fact About Port Vale !

Are they though the first club to do this? Has it been done previously with a few different, but longer standing, clubs amongst the 91?

[Brighton] Brighton Marathon - Volunteering Help Please!

You should be able to select a 'Shift' once registered. The lower zone numbers will finish earliest. I think there should be a map showing the zones. My water station 3A is at Mile 7.5 (Roedean) so I'm assuming we'll have the vast majority of the runners through by around 1pm - in fact, just...
