    [TV] Tales from the Loop

Every so often something comes up on the TV that is truly exceptional. Tales from the loop on Amazon Prime is a true example of the genre I find fascinating.. Based on the illustrated book by the artist Simon Stålenhag, it’s truly a work of genius. I’ve bought the book and downloaded the superb...

[Travel] Summer 2020 holidays - Germany & Italy giving the go ahead

Who in their right mind would even want to go on one of the package holidays where the food is all served buffet style? No chance of any form of social distancing with some fat buffet monster slavering down your neck, in the queue behind you.

Have you had Covid-19 ......Could you share your experience?

My mother-in-law died of covid-19 today. She was an elderly lady with underlying health problems. The irony is that she went into hospital for unrelated reasons, but was infected in there. Although my wife said to the nurses that she sounded really breathless, they sent her home to be assessed...

[Misc] How do you get on with your immediate neighbours?

We’re lucky to have really good neighbours. The old boy has a bright red sit on mower and is cutting his grass two to three times a week. It’s so slow it reminds me of the fire engine in Trumpton.

[Misc] Piers Morgan v Matt Hancock

Can’t argue with any of that. However, we have friends with family in China who say that the death toll is closer to 120k than 3k. Who do you believe?
  8. The Antikythera Mechanism

[Misc] Piers Morgan v Matt Hancock

The fault lies entirely with the Chinese Government and their lies about the scale of the problem. 80k infections and 3k deaths in a population of 1.6bn - what a load of bollocks. The true scale was only realised when the virus hit Italy.

I thought that Ernest would’ve been all over this thread but he hasn’t posted since 24 March and his profile says that he is now Beach Hut. Very odd, but hope he’s ok.

Agreed. No degree in maths but I did get grade A - Pure Maths and grade A - Applied Maths back when the grading was 100% on the final exam, when all workings had to be shown and the only aid was log tables. (1972)

[Football] Your First Taste Of Football Hooliganism

Luton away Feb 1970. Saw someone from my school, VGSB, full on skinhead, kicking some other kids head in. Turned my stomach. Would’ve been in his regulation school uniform on Monday.
