[Brighton] Lost buiildings of Brighton?

I'm currently working on an assignment to write about 100 lost landmarks of the world. Its pretty fun, I've been reading old Swedish newspapers for days and stumbled across this magnificent piece (which I understand that you are all very aware of):



Reading the Wikipedia page about the West Pier made me want to punch someone. Allowing this MAGNIFICENT structure to crumble... heartbreaking.

Any other nice buildings or structures that got lost over the years?

Churchill Square.

The Chain Pier – Brighton's original pier, to the east of the Palace Pier, was a major landmark in its day. It was partly a landing stage for the Dieppe ferry and other ships but became a tourist attraction in its own right.

Brighton Hippodrome. It is still standing but arguments about what to do with it means it will fall down soon.
If you think we could have done something with the west pier but didn't then the same is happening right now with this building.

The Sackville Hotel in Hove started to collapse in 2006....



So they had to demolish it...



And they plan to replace it with flats...
