I'm beginning to wonder when those who think all patriots are great will realise that Trump patriot will end up wanting what farage patriot also wants?

Think about the commonwealth. We were told we didn't need the eu and needed to gain closer ties with the commonwealth by farage and others. But Canada who has King Charles as sovereign is also wanted by Trump who wants to be its president.

So which side do the patriots take?

Their supporters didn’t realise they hated Canada or respected Russia until Trump told them they did.

It’s a cult. Traditional conservative values have gone out the window and whatever he says is the party line.

I’m looking forward to meltdown that will be the midwest, apparently they’ll have to put up with a ‘little indigestion‘ due to losing their subsidies. Karma is a bitch!

Long time since I have looked at this Trump thread. Always up to election anti Trump but will wait a few months to see if I retrain that view. Whilst both him and Vance so often dont think before they speak in many ways Trump has impressed me so far. As i said hopefully think same in comming months.
Of course that interview was a disaster but with USA having supplied Ukrain billions am sure it would have gone down better with Trump his mate and the public if Zelensky had made a bigger thing of showing appreciation for what USA have done.
We all know how evil Putin is and all we hear from Zelensky is he needs more weapons. The principle is good but facts are as no foreign troops will go in and fight in Ukraine they will run out of troops and will be only one winner. Trump knows this and credit to him is only leader that talks about peace and he just wants Zelensky to focus on this as much as obtaining more weapons

Really? I'm pretty sure they all do...

Trump seems to want A LOT: thank yous; rare earth minerals; other countries to put more money up to fight the war, etc, etc. And if he doesn't get any/all of those things, he's not giving any support to Ukraine. But if he TRULY wants peace, then there shouldn't be any need for any military support, because there's no war to fight.

I might be wrong, but there's only one thing Trump is interested in – and that's what is in it for HIM.

Yes, somehow Trump wants to sell this thing called peace to line his own pockets. Not sure if it’s his to sell though. Bit like the emporer’s suit of clothes.

Everything moves in cycles. In this cycle, the US is an unreliable partner and everyone will need to adapt accordingly. But come January 20th 2029 there will be a new president (if Vance hasn't inherited it before then) - either we switch back to Democracy or the US really will be an unreliable partner and basically be cut out of global affairs if there's a Constitution Amendment busting 3rd term for the worst president in history, or someone like him.

It's really very sad that the US is no longer a close ally and that one person can disrupt the global order of things so thoroughly, and so quickly. But that's how it currently is.

What has Trump done that's impressed you so far?

Off the top of my head ....

Withdrawn aid from people who need it, in the USA and across the world? Without notice?
Reduced USA spending on research into alzheimers, thereby putting things back 10-20 years - according to the head of alzheimers research?
Sacked thousands of people - many of whom voted for him - who now can't pay their bills?
Withdrawn help/arms/intelligence to Ukraine who desperately need it simply to survive?
Treated Russia better than he treats Ukraine or "blue states" or the people of Gaza?
Become the first convicted felon (and sex offender) to become President?
Filled his cabinet with un-experienced fantasists and sycophants - thereby putting the USA (and the world) in danger?
Increased the cost of groceries in USA?
Reduced the value of Global Stock Markets?
Lied about what he has achieved and what his predecessors left him?
Pardoned convicted criminals who openly invaded the USA government and beat up Police - the Blue Line that he claims to support?
Insulted his allies?
Wrongly called the elected leader of Ukraine a Dictator - while refusing to give Putin the same title?
Praised Putin?
Attempted to restrict Ukraines ability to fight Russia, without any reciprocal restrictions on Russia?
Reduced his own "Peace Process" to a financial transaction; "we'll stop Russia killing your people if you pay us in minerals from now on, with no end date or guarantee that we'll be there to protect you if Russia decides to start the war again - and you dont get a seat at the table while we're sorting out your future"?
Insulted Canada and Greenland and Panama, and threatened to "take them", " one way or another"?
Tried to get Ukraine to allow him to talk peace with Putin without Ukraine being involved and without Putin agreeing to a cease fire first - seemingly its OK to talk to dictators/aggressors while they continue to kill civilians and defenders of a smaller nation?

There's so, so much more ........ none of it I would describe as "impressive".

Don't forget the big one;

Pwned libs
An essential criteria for any rational, forward-thinking President I'm sure.
