We pay over the odds because energy is linked to the most expensive source of energy, ie gas

The energy market needs to be reformed then we will take advantage of cheap renewables.

Labour are in the right track, the Tories were obsessed with legacy fossil fuels and extracting the dregs from the North Sea to rewards no one but primary extractors

I agree with your first two points entirely.

We also need to be making the most efficient use of the resources we have available here as we progress towards the ultimate aim of reducing usage. The war in Ukraine has just exposed the fact we need to take a more pragmatic approach and recognise that we are vulnerable in terms of our energy security.

For example, at this very moment only 16% of the UK electricity supply is coming from gas (yay!), however we are importing 18.7%, and a good portion of the further 5.8% being supplied from 'biomass' will actually formerly be a Canadian forest. These are all supplies that can be easily disrupted.

46.2% from solar/wind/hydro combined is great for the time of year, including the 2.5Kw contribution from my roof.

I'm joining a protest at the USA Embassy in London tomorrow. It's the very least I can do.

With Trump aligning with Putin, should the genuine free world now be looking at boycotting the world cup next year?
May as well. It's nailed on to be a USA vs Russia final anyway, with all other sides sent home after the group phase for Not Being Thankful Enough.

So with the charge sheet of Trumps stupid, indifferent and hostile actions growing lengthier every day, ill there be a point when a current senior Republican actually stands up and say " No More " ? Are they ever going to wake up or will they all just follow Trump to hell ?

If we seriously going to increase our military rather than it being just words, we also need cheap and consistent energy to step up manufacturing for a period of time to build the stuff, which will be the same across Europe.

I'm really impressed with the energy I get from my solar panels, and I don't have a particularly big south facing roof space. It makes me wonder how much we could increase our solar capacity if the goverment really pushed installation, and I'm surprised that such a small percentage of new builds seem to have solar panels incorporated into the roof. For my installation, the cost of scaffolding and roofers to do the panel installation was about half the total cost.

Maybe a re-organised tournament featuring USA, Russia, North Korea and Israel and Belarus. Even that might be too much competition for Trump as the US seems to prefer sports in which it only plays with itself.

The other key thing we need to do as a nation is get a grip of our military housing stock. Having armed forces ready and motivated to serve isn't just about training, equipment, munitions. The state of our military housing is a national disgrace and the contractors responsible for maintaining it should be hauled into No:10 and told to seriously up their game or have their fat contracts cancelled.

94 times he's said it publically since war began.

And they'd have you believe the difference between a free and subjugated Ukraine was whether Zelensky wore a tie.

Indeed - but what Vance wanted was a special thank-you to Trump. Not America or the American people, and especially not past administrations. He wanted a special 'thank-you Mr Trump' at the Oval Office meeting.

Cracking day getting 7.1kw from 8kw off the roof. Solar aside, home batteries are now VAT free. Those that can afford it should try and get one, half the lecky bills and help the grid out when things get tight. Flatten the demand curve

DRAX biomass is utterly bonkers, I see the subsidies are getting cut very soon. We can use the cash better for other things

That piece of shit Vance has just insulted our country by saying we are some Radom country that has not fought a war in 30-40 years ignoring all the help in Iraq etc . I think this total and utter vile human being is more dangerous even than trump . Can you believe the path America is taking and sorry to say if your thinking of voting Reform at the next election they will be of similar thinking to both Trump and Vance . I think the damage that will be done in the next 4 years will cause the western world to be on the brink of collapse

I'm not sure of Zelensky could have done much to avoid the slaying, when Trump holds a grudge you're screwed
