Define 'majority' please?
I'd define it as the majority of NSC posters who aren't active in political threads and, despite having opinions, don't feel the need to express them on every topic.

To put a personal spin on it, I'm a centrist who believes that all of society's ills can neither be explained solely by personal irresponsibility (apologies to those on the right) nor by structural imbalances (apologies to those on the left). Neither left nor right has a permanent monopoly on good ideas, so the centrist can take the best from both. Add in circumstantial nuance and the political waters are clouded further. Despite being in my 3rd decade of being on NSC, I've rarely posted over that time on political threads. Besides, being slow to speak and quick to listen is a very useful quality. I don't learn anything new if I'm talking.

However, there's always the exception to prove the rule. I'd argue that this is such a case when decades of international global security is being threatened. Staying silent would be wrong, even if does risk offence to some and seem like a NSC pile-on.

I'll choose my battles on NSC. For those who know me, they're very few and far between. But this is one.

We should all think about which side of history we want to be on now. Even centrists can do that.

Corbyn wasn't elected.

His 2019 campaign was already being undermined by the likes of Luke Akehurst (the same one found a safe seat) and Keir Starmer.

You'd likely be maligned now for ever having voted for him in that election, even by those who did themselves (then consider the options)

And the country fell for some devious clown called Boris.

Well I never.

It should tell you something about influences within UK politics, just as there are in th US.

wrong thread by the way
so nothing then, that's the point

I'll roll back a bit to keep us on topic as I feel like our shared passions have lead us astray. No one in this conflict is 'good' or 'perfect' not Zelinsky or anyone else - they are all out for their own ends and for want of a better word - cash. All this euphoric bloodlust posted on NSC over recent hours calling for the world to unite and attack Russia under the banner of some banal hashtag just sickens me. I have seen evidence of such suffering occurring to ordinary men and women I just want this war to end, however that happens. I have a son, I would fight to stop him fighting a war for money men and hashtags. I think you are being manipulated by someone richer and more intelligent than both of us under the guise of a giant Ukranian flag covered in hashtags and it scares me. I just want peace not more countries entering a war with no obvious victor?
What a strange post.

No wonder you didnt want to post on political threads.

We can all agree its a terrible thing that you didnt find the ignore thread option.

You’re absolutely right, America is not you’re enemy, we’re friends and allies.

The anti American sentiment on here is quite frankly getting on my tits. All because you hate one (maybe two) people.
Your dear leader is not our friend and ally. He wants to rape Ukraine and hand it over to his Russian boss, slap high tariffs on Europe and do business deals with said Russian boss.

Not seen anything to suggest we unite to " Fight " Russia, the uniting is being done to stand against Russia.

It's important to remember why this war started, although it should not need repeating, it sadly does more and more frequently..it was started by a sad little man who could not cope with a country next door which was thriving commercially and had a working democracy. He could not allow his people to be envious and ask " Why can't we live like Ukrainians " ? .

If you genuinely want peace, talk to Mr Putin.

What some of pro-Trump/Russian posters don’t seem to realise is that a peace deal might be whether they lose the equivalent of Dorset and Wiltshire given Cornwall, Devon and Somerset have already gone.

Conceptually I think we have posters struggling comparatively that Trump and Putin could just decide that Putin can have Dorset but can’t have Wiltshire and turn to the UK and say that’s your peace deal, thanks.

The Russian-bot we have saying who is to say which side is good or not, how about the side that did the invading not being good? Is it that difficult to comprehend that?
