I think I see what's going to happen now.

Trump stresses how much Putin wants peace and to 'stop the dying' 🤮

A peace deal is proposed that allows Putin to keep Ukrainian land and basically gives Ukraine f*** all.

Putin readily accepts, but it is of course unacceptable to Zelensky and the Ukrainian people.

Trump and his cheerleaders then paint Zelensky as a war monger who has no interest in peace and isn't legitimate anyway seeing as there's been no elections for over 5 years.

I really, really hope I'm wrong.

If you're right, what would be the point? The war will continue, Trump won't support Ukraine, the US's relations with allies will worsen, Trump won't get paid for what the US has already delivered, the US economy will suffer, and in return Trump gets what exactly? Makes no sense to me.

I can’t imagine the likes of Lockheed Martin are delighted that their lucrative opportunity to test all their gear out on actual Russian kit is drying up

Jesus. America is under attack from within and they've no idea how to deal with it.

Sounds like you're looking for a logical answer despite Trump's history of irrationality. Perhaps he'd be happy to have Putin's undying friendship. After lifting sanctions he may seek to do trade deals with him too. Feck knows, but I'm listening and watching, and this is what I'm feeling.

Trump's in his element here. He's playing hardball, trying to broker a deal for real estate and scarce commodities, oblivious of the bigger picture.

A Russian attack drone with a high explosive warhead has hit the Chernobyl nuclear plant. Link to follow.

Here it is.

The US deserves to be hacked to pieces by China...I almost want to see it happen

Thanks for posting 👍. It crystallises lots of stuff into a coherent and scary reality.

This is insane. The sarcophagus cost €2 billion and 6 years to build, and for good reason, to prevent radiation escaping to the surrounding area. I hope the structural integrity has not been damaged in any way.
This is what happens when the US president appeases Putin.

He calculated that the attack was worth the minimal risk of escalation.
