TBH, if I could make a living by watching 90m of football a week and acting like a twat, I’d take it!

You can if you want.

Just pretend to be a Utd/City/'pool/Arse fan and get upset when your team loses.

Get a cheap supply of second hand TVs to smash up for extra points.

I do realise that this is an effective way to play to counteract teams but it isn't working... when do we stop trying or start getting it to work?
At least pass to a player that has a little space.

I also don't think the risk/reward is even close to paying off. We let in quite a few goals from it, but I'm not sure we score any.

If the opposition are pressing, then balls over the top seem to result in a few goals our way.

Just as the ball was passed to Ayari today, he stopped. Either he didn't know it was coming, or didn't know someone was on him. Either way it's not good enough (from either Fab, Bart or Ayari).

Isn’t it working? It’s gone wrong twice (I think) this season when we’ve got a 21 year old gk and literal kids playing in midfield. Mistakes will happen.

Ultimately, if you play the ball into other areas consistently, teams will press in those areas instead and you’re faced with the same issue.

The key is for the very young midfield players to get better at receiving the ball with their back to goal, which will happen a) with experience and b) with better scanning.

Some players do this naturally - Caicedo, Busquets, Rodri, Lampard, Alonso - others need a bit more time.

But we’re not going to stop doing this, and neither are any of the other big sides around Europe because the benefits far outweigh the negatives.

Twice 🤣. I really do get the benefit when it works. I suppose it is back to Hughton and Potter days of learning better ways. I just feel we do it at the wrong times, that's all. Not saying it's the wrong thing just do it against teams that don't do the high press until we progress.

But they’ll never learn doing it that way. You only learn from mistakes in real game scenarios. The key though, as stated before, is scanning properly - Ayari didn’t do it in that instance and got caught on his toes. It happens 🤷‍♂️

And yeh, twice. Today, and I’m sure there was a game earlier in the season where Baleba or Ayari got caught and Baleba gave away a pen.

That’s not that many times.
