Twice 🤣. I really do get the benefit when it works. I suppose it is back to Hughton and Potter days of learning better ways. I just feel we do it at the wrong times, that's all. Not saying it's the wrong thing just do it against teams that don't do the high press until we progress.
Meh. We have 4th least dangerous mistakes on our own half, only City, Arsenal and Everton are better in that area. It just seems like we make more defensive errors because we don't give a shit when other teams does them.

Isn’t it working? It’s gone wrong twice (I think) this season when we’ve got a 21 year old gk and literal kids playing in midfield. Mistakes will happen.

Ultimately, if you play the ball into other areas consistently, teams will press in those areas instead and you’re faced with the same issue.

The key is for the very young midfield players to get better at receiving the ball with their back to goal, which will happen a) with experience and b) with better scanning.

Some players do this naturally - Caicedo, Busquets, Rodri, Lampard, Alonso - others need a bit more time.

But we’re not going to stop doing this, and neither are any of the other big sides around Europe because the benefits far outweigh the negatives.
Goalkeeper is 22

The most curious thing..
On train on the way back.
Thought we were excellent, a great all round performance, no weak link in team.
Only downer is the buffet car is closed.
I assume the train has more home fans going to London than away fans.

Just seen this headline on the beeb website

We didn't beat them, they lost
Don't take it personally. Whoever wrote that couldn't put another [club] beats club]' because it would be repetition with the Everton/Spuds bit – it could easily have been the other way around. Nothing wrong to say they MUFC lost because... they lost

I know he was only on for a very short time, but anyone have a view on Gomez's very short cameo?
My mate knows someone who started an RIP thread (and lived to regret it) and he reckons Gomez was shitehouse.
