I thought the ref had a really good game. He let the game go as much as anyone could, a huge number of physical challenges from us particularly in the first 30 minutes went unpunished, he wasn’t having any nonsense.

The goal was correctly ruled out.

It was a stone wall penalty - and perhaps lucky it took place in the box so it could only be a yellow, rather than the one just before outside the box which may have been a professional foul.

He had a good game and got all the major decisions right. Oh, and I’d have said this win, lose or draw.
You will be pleased to know that M U fans think the opposite. We should have seen 2 red cards!

It was good pressing but the keeper should never pass to him in that situation. They/he needs to learn when and when not to pass into midfield. I know the benefits but I'm not sure we have received one from this type of pass.
He should play to him there. Ayari is caught on his toes, that’s all. You’re talking milliseconds in the Premier League. And a good press will sometimes catch you out in those milliseconds.

What is worrying is that he doesn’t seem to have scanned the area around him before asking for the ball. That’s midfielder 1o1.

I know he was only on for a very short time, but anyone have a view on Gomez's very short cameo?
Yes. My view is that the 60 seconds or so the ball was actually in play after him coming on isn't enough to say anything about anything really.

But that has never stopped me before...

Nothing can be said about his performance. Lots can be said about him being involved within just three weeks off getting back from his off-season holiday. I thought we would see very little of Diego Gomez this spring (bit like most previous South American signings) but already giving him a little bit of grass time might indicate he's supposed to play a fair bit earlier than I thought, probably depending on what Mats Wheelchair is up to in the next few months.

BBC website:

Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler, speaking to Sky Sports: "We showed a very good performance and had good balance. We dominated and made good chances in the second half."

On doing the double against Manchester United this season: "We are proud and happy but these games only give three points so we have to keep pushing. It's special to win at Old Trafford against a club with big tradition, therefore we are happy but we have to keep working day by day."

On making changes at half-time: "There is always some advice, half time is there to let players what we need to do to win. I's only small changes and it's up to the players to win the game."
