Good post. Frankly bizarre to say the pass was a better option when you see the oppo players blocking the path.
In fairness, unless he's getting consistent minutes, I can see why he wouldn't sign a new deal yet. Let's see where he is at the end of the season game-time-wise

Maybe, I'm wrong, but I have never felt we should try and mould him into the same player was already have too many of.
With the amount of possession we regularly have, having a player who will chance his arm frequently, isn't really costing us that much.
I'd rather he was taking low xg shots and hitting the target, than try to manoeuvre a high xg opportunity for Ayari, who then misses the target.
Enciso's contract ends in mid-2026 and although apparently from Brighton they would consider renewing, the striker has no intention of extending the bond, since he sees his future outside the club in a few years.

Atalanta have money, they don't splash it about willy nilly but they've made lots of big sales themselves over the last few years.
Similar things were said about Stuttgart, but in the end they coughed up the €30m for Undav that we wanted.

I'd argue it's costing us goals and him assists. I understand why you'd pick out Ayari, but Welbeck, Rutter and Pedro are also about. Hope it clicks still, he's obviously very good but it hasn't happened since his earlier days, much like Ferguson in a way but he's had fewer opportunities.
