It's not a new issue, The Tennessee Valley Authority back in 2020 laid off over 200 American workers and replaced them with lower paid foreign workers, and also looked to the American workers to train their replacements.

Trump mentioned this as a reason he was against this and said it should only be for high level executives, thereby protecting American jobs

But now he has done a complete about turn and is supporting the position he was against a few years ago.

Nicky Campbell or the anti Trump guest got it wrong then. They portrayed it as new gap emerging between MAGA/Trump and Musk.

There is a Gap, Trump's supporters and his party support the only available for high flyers, which was Trump's position in 2020, but now Trump and Musk want to lower wages and boost profits for Corporations at the expense of American workers.

Anyway best to draw a line now and move to the Trump thread

Why would anyone making just 5 or 6 home games want a season ticket?!

You've stated your particular circumstances, but someone coming to so few games may just be looking to watch top Premier League teams on the cheap, and may not even a Brighton fan. I think that's what the club is guarding against.

(Watford used to contact fans if they missed just two matches btw)

If someone does six home games and six aways does that make them more or less loyal than someone who does 12 home games?
There could be an argument that the person doing 12 home games is giving money to the club on 12 occasions whereas the other is only giving money on 6 and, even worse, is giving money to our competitors!!! I normally do about the same home and away except it is normally about 17 or 18 matches at home and similar away.

So football fandom is about giving money rather than supporting the team?

Yeah, we've done this.

Some fans are gaming the system.

Some of those fans are complaining about rules being squeezed.

Some innocent fans are caught in the crossfire.

The majority of fans aren't affected.

That's where we're at, I think.

(And something about American workers or whatever)

Just far enough away from LDC
There are over 520 tickets available for tomorrow on the exchange. Plus c30 lounge tickets at 140 to 165gbp

This will be a good test of demand /away fans ability to buy

The points system has been designed by Bloom to take into account not just if you have an ST but also for how long.

Loyalty is more than checking in to a home game
You’ve lost me. Yes, loyalty points reward loyalty so what’s the objection to the possible idea of getting a point for attending a home game?

The club don't seem enforce that particular clause, unless it is new for this season?
The clause is that auto-renewal may not be available. Renewal may still be possible on-line or by phone.

To be honest the slowly creeping scrawl is gradually being written on the wall here.

At some point down the line ( if the waiting list is long enough ) the club won't want fans who don't go much to have season tickets. And that "don't go much" will be an increasingly smaller number of games missed.

None so long as the premise of points for a) getting a ST and b) getting points for sequential renewals was kept and you just got an extra point or two for checking in.

But….

You didn’t say that.

It would encourage fans to “false check in” or share rather than list on exchange and….

If we are taking away STs for no shows that’s the same thing but with serial offenders losing 200 points instead of 20,000 or so getting an extra 19.

I have that on ignore, I realised what was going to happen many weeks prior to election night. For various obvious reasons, right wing nationalists will control the White House for a bloody long time.

TBF I didn’t say a lot of things I thought unnecessary or irrelevant. Yes, keep the same system but just give home attendees a point. It was just a response to the poster saying there’d be a BINFEST if the idea was proposed. When I thought about it for a moment it struck me as quite a decent idea!

Please keep this off this thread. Thanks

There’s “off-topic”, then there’s this.

But STH already get up to 200 points which are ostensibly for attending home games. Perhaps the club should deduct points when home games are not attended by a STH!
