[Albion] Club cancelling ST due to non-attendance

Similar to @Jovis I'm a ST holder in Coventry and some home games just aren't possible not unless i want to bunk my lad off school at any rate. Chelsea and Southampton are 2 pain in the arses in particular. This weekend I have a different problem and needed a 3rd ticket for 52 quid on the exchange.

The reality is some games have to be shared officially of course. I wouldn't dream of having a shared Google wallet logon as that would be against the rules.

PBOBE and the club's technology consultant, trawling through this thread looking for ST ruses, to then counter .

Precisely.

It is strange how people with an issue allow themselves to exaggerate it to a level of absurdity, even risking wiping away everything that is now good in order to make their point.

I was just listening to Nicky Campbell. A right wing guest supports X because Musk got rid of the 'left wing' fact checkers to facilitate 'free speech'. And yet he is uncritical of Musk for banning MAGA Trump supporters from X because they disagree with his (Musk's) policy to use special visas to import cheap tec workers from India (and lay off expensive Americans), a policy Trump opposes (apparently). Doh!
Trump has flip flopped on H1B Visas. In 2020 he was against these visas, as it cost Americans their jobs, but now he is favour of, and supports Musk. Although back in 2020 he was going to make these visas illegal.

Is that so? That wasn't the narrative on R5 this morning. Neither from pro-Musk man or anti-Musk woman.

Still, it wouldn't be the first time the talking heads had no idea what they were banging on about...

Isn’t the new issue that Musk’s using them for cheap labour, not meeting the H1B intention of being for highly skilled people only?

So you are basically buying 200 (if done over a number of seasons) "loyalty" points in order to attend away games in front of some fans who attend lots of home matches
Not everyone wants to attend away games, and they're more laborious and expensive to go to, so I'm not really sympathetic.

In any case, I'm still in the "all STHs" tier, so for the time being I'm not preventing anyone - anyone with a season ticket anyway - from going to away games.

Now that's a good idea

If someone does six home games and six aways does that make them more or less loyal than someone who does 12 home games?

You'd never guess what this thread started with :lolol:

Indeed. As it happens, I did marginally more home games than aways last season - 23 matches in total. I'm on track to attend slightly more aways than home games this season, but that's partly because we have several aways this month, and I won't be going to many more matches thereafter as my wife is having a baby in the spring. Factor in the fact that I don't live in Sussex so every home game is effectively an away for me and I don't really have time for the argument that I'm a bad fan for not doing more home games.

PS Looking forward to the absolutely BINFEST on here when the club starts giving loyalty points for (actually attending) home games.
That’s not a bad idea. If we get 5 points for a London away match and 10 for most northern games, why not get 1 point for home games? The question is whether putting your ticket on the exchange or sharing should also get a point. If you didn’t get a point for not attending and not selling/sharing, that would be an additional inducement to sell/share.

Hmmmm... given the distances, if you're going to Ipswich, Norwich and/or Man Utd away this month, and not Everton at home, you're very much making a choice.

Nothing to do with living in London.

Right. But the club would, I think, argue that's not in the spirit of a season ticket.

They don't want fans buying a season ticket - at a heavy discount - and selling off the tickets most weeks.

Isn’t the spirit of a season ticket that you buy a seat for a season and it’s up to you whether you use it or not.
I had a SCCC season ticket and got nowhere near my money’s worth out of it. SCCC didn’t complain.

Oh, definitely, a choice in favor of a) a better atmosphere and overall experience, b) better transport links (except for Norwich), and c) points. But I don't see how I can be faulted for it given the constant moaning on here about all of the above and the investment of time and money on my part, and as I've highlighted I did attend more home games than aways last season and might well have done so this season were it not for my personal circumstances, which can't be reduced to living in London.

No, that's not the spirit at all.

Albion aren't desperate for sales - unlike, say, a county cricket side.

Premier League football tickets are in-demand and high value.

Season ticket holders get a HUGE discount at Brighton. As I wrote elsewhere, a ticket for Wimbledon v Swindon in L2 last month cost more than Albion v Arsenal tomorrow.

It's not a new issue, The Tennessee Valley Authority back in 2020 laid off over 200 American workers and replaced them with lower paid foreign workers, and also looked to the American workers to train their replacements.

Trump mentioned this as a reason he was against this and said it should only be for high level executives, thereby protecting American jobs

But now he has done a complete about turn and is supporting the position he was against a few years ago.

The points system has been designed by Bloom to take into account not just if you have an ST but also for how long.

Loyalty is more than checking in to a home game

Wtf has this got to do with season tickets?

Sorry but I’m struggling to follow this thread
