If he had actually wanted to hit the guy in the face he would have simply stuck his arm out instead of bending it at the elbow.

we got the free kick….Brentford player seemed to be pulling his shirt back
Brentford did quite a bit of that when we were breaking forward, so I get Pedro's frustration. Whilst there was movement with his elbow, I'm convinced he didn't actually intend to make contact ... there was quite a gap. It was more like a FFS moment. Not a red for me - but management would do well to speak with him about channeling his frustration in a more positive way.

It's a red all day long are people blind? It's probably the most aggressive elbow I've seen, thank god it didn't hit him
Given the relative position of both players, do you think it's more likely that:

A. Pedro attempted to perform the most aggressive elbow ever (potentially a nose breaker, or worse), going way above the violent antics of the absolute nutter Andone; or

B. That he attempted to perform an (overly) expressive action with no actual intent or expectation of harm.

It's a B for me

A.

If the Brentford player gets in front of him, like most and also JP would probably expect, rather than run at the side of him, he gets the elbow straight in his face.

The "the Brentford player was already past him" take is not backed up by any evidence, all the cameras show the opposite. Draw a line if you can't see it.

What have you been smoking tonight?! It was never a red card. He was never in danger of hitting his head. Petulant maybe but not violent or likely to connect .
Excuse my ignorance, I was off these boards for a couple of years so may have missed something - is Hans Solo an alter ego for an alleged erstwhile Swede who liked pizza?

Nonsense. Pedro actually looked right at him before making the move, he wasn't just swinging an elbow blindly in the 'expectation' that the player would be on the end of it. If he had wanted to elbow him in the face he would have done. He clearly looked, and made sure his elbow was nowhere near him. Watch it fully - at 0.18.

Red all day long. If he had got a red the only person moaning would have been pedro...

It was a very silly action, but he was looking at the ref while doing it. Not sure that is what you normally do when you want to give someone a snide elbow. It was a "for FFS he's got my shirt AGAIN, do I have to physically remove him" gesture, to the ref...

Watch it from the side angle and you will see that the Brentford player was already about 653mm away from from Pedro. Look at their feet. Draw a line if you can’t see it.

Aye……and from what I see he was looking at the referee when he did it …as you say take player aside and also mention the diving ….still what do I know apparently I’m blind 🤔

I don’t have a strong opinion either way on whether it should or shouldn’t have been a red, but I am confident he was a complete moron for doing it and giving the ref / VAR a decision to make entirely unnecessarily.

I hope someone at the club is sitting him down to tell him to not be such a complete and utter idiot. Else he’s not getting his Liverpool move.

Aye he has been a bit of a twat recently….and the VAR ref said no red……is it coincidence that his form has dropped since those rumours(?)

Intent?….and no I don’t take note of Clattenberg ……but as you can see plenty of posters don’t agree with you….still we all have our opinions :)
Plenty do agree... it looked like intent to me as well otherwise he would have labourdly swung his arm back. we all have opinions and going by the letter of the law, it looked off. This is what is crap about football, rules should not be about opinions or somebody's interpretation of the rule.
