He's not Jimmy Saville, he's a lad and he likes banter. If they didn't like what they were hearing when working with Greg then they should have spoken to him at the time to stop it, as it was causing them distress.
Typical BBC woke scandal.
Not tolerating harassment in the workplace is “woke”?

Can you provide your definition of “woke” in this particular scenario, please?

Racism used to be called banter.

Misogyny and harassment are not acceptable in the workplace and believe me, I saw someone escorted off the premises 30 years ago for it. Women do speak up, but quite often the ‘lad’ wont listen because it’s just bantz.
Sit down luv, the lads are talking.

Woke? No, just men acting like they’re entitled.

Sue Perkins: we use innuendos to calm the Bake Off contestants down

The co-host of BBC1's baking contest reckons her smutty one-liners reduce stress levels in the tent

She's got to go too,, then. But will she?

She’s not a middle aged white man, so unlikely to be investigated.

To clarify, I do not condone any intimidating or sexualised behaviour in the workplace. I do have some issues with the criteria for this behaviour being investigated.

Indeed, the 'soggy bottom' has kept the show going for years.

But what if Gregg was up to a bit more than smutty one liners?

And what if frogs had wings?
Then they'd be flying frogs

Without going into anything that would get into NSC into trouble there were some very indiscreet TV management types who used to sit in my carriage when I commuted pre-covid (when many people commuted and understood the rule that you go in the same carriage every day).

Oh, some TV types are revolting.

I worked in the industry for some time and I’ve witnessed and challenged some revolting behaviour towards women.

Not sure it’s helpful to insinuate things against specific people at this stage though?

All I'm insinuating is that I've heard gossip. I've no idea if that gossip is true but I've been waiting for this thread for at least five years.

It’s to be expected I guess, the egos are off the wall for thousands of personalities. It’s full of types craving attention, professional show offs etc who are pampered and pandered to upon success. Even those yet to become all that famous are full of themselves before you even ask ‘em in my experience. Nah, a more narcissistic industry must be difficult to imagine than ‘show’ business. Clue’s in the name!

Also Sue Perkins is a professional comedian, timing and delivery and expectation etc mitigate her. Bit like Jimmy Carr, he does rape jokes I’ve seen on YouTube. Not saying I find them funny, but unlikely to get complaints because people knowingly go to see him expecting him to say such things. Greg Wallace however is a Greengrocer and hasn’t done Live at the Apollo as far as I know?

So there are people on here saying the BBC aren't woke enough for allowing people like GW to work for them, and now you saying it's the BBC creating a "woke scandal". Which is it? The BBC have suspended him because of his history of inappropriate work-place behaviour; he's not accused of a crime. If I made comments like he is reported to have where I work I would be on a disciplinary very quickly.

The power and age aspect too.

Young women don’t want to hear middle aged bosses/celebs sexual ‘innuendo’ at work …. or anywhere else.

Hoping to stay in a sought after industry, they’ll probably keep quiet.

Al Fayad played on that.
