Struggled after last sunday - 30 units of alcohol and I worked out the calories as about 2000 so a days worth of food there and then, am back on track and 4.5 lbs down in total.

Day 14 completed yesterday.

1/11 89.9 kgs 14st 2lbs

8/11 88.1 kgs 13st 12lbs

15/11 87.2 kgs 13st 10lbs

Feeling happy with that.Steady but sure so far. I think of 12 packets of butter representing the 6lb loss... ( I know it's not all fat I have lost ).

As this challenge is about healthy diet changes as well as trying to shift some unwanted excess, these are some of the small changes I have made these two weeks.

Eaten three times a day. Always cereal for breakfast, always a very light lunch, always a cooked meal early evening.

Avoided eating any snacks after my evening meal. Sooooooooo difficult the first few evenings, but equally...soooooo easy to avoid the habit after just 14 days.

Increased my steps from averaging 5-6000 a day to 11-14000 steps a day.

Cut out sugar from my once a day mug of coffee. Initially disgusting, but now almost tolerable.

Occasionally eating fruit...hmmmm.

I want to thank Couldnt be Hypia for starting this thread. If I stopped today, I am quite certain I'm in a better place healthwise than I was 14 days ago.

I have no intention of stopping today at least ( one day at a time ) and look forward to reading others experiences, and suggestions.

That’s great progress. Do you have any at all or much reduced carbs with your evening dinners?

I going to be very honest and say I'm not yet at the stage of differentiating between all the various carbs, fibres etc etc. I will be doing so soon though.

I'm basically just trying to re-align my over-eating habits first and making some very obviously needed, but simple changes. I am quite a bit over my ideal weight, so losing excess at present is relatively easy. For those who are only slightly over weight their challenge obviously will need much more attention to carbs etc etc I don't envy them...ha ha.

But I'm hoping my turn will come.

I do like to read all the various challenges, suggestions, successes and failings that posters tell us. Everyone has a story to tell.

I think that helps us all.

PS: I forgot to add , that I learn more from those who have temporarily slipped back than say my 'story' ( which merely states the bleeding obvious ..ha ).

Well done.
What I need to know is how you managed to weigh yourself after 2 weeks yesterday, on the 15th?

Day 14: 85.15kg (13st 6lb); 17.6% body fat

That’s a 1.35kg loss from day 1. However, rather disappointingly I’ve somehow managed to put on 0.9kg in the last 2 days. I’ve not done anything different in those 2 days from what I’ve been doing for the rest of the month so far, ie I’ve cut out all snacking between meals and am exercising every day. So I’ll put this down to daily fluctuations and hope to see a swing the other way tomorrow morning.

? I suppose it's two weeks and 9 hours ?

I just weighed myself this morning ( always, same day of the week, Thursday, at the same time 9.00am here. ) Last week I had to get up early and weigh myself at 8.00am as I was back in the UK .

Back down to 14st 8lbs yesterday after a bump over the weekend.

It was a bit lower than that this morning, but by an amount that I'd love to take at face value, but don't really believe.

To be frank, my scales are shite and only really good for indicating the direction of travel.
Down to 14st 4lbs now, apparently.

I've lost 6 pounds so far on the cat bite, antibiotic diarrhea diet. How this works is you get your cat to sink its fangs into you and getting an infection that swells up your hand like a balloon. You then get prescribed a weeks course of strong antibiotics which kill all your gut flora giving you a week of the shits so everytime you eat it passes through you like magic reducing you to a diet of beige food and rehydation drinks . Voila a week later nearly half a stone lost

Somebody at work said the quickest way to lose work is get yourself a dose of disentry! You’ll quickly lose a stone or more!

Dying works too. Or maybe just have a leg amputated. I would suggest running these ideas past your GP though.

Fluids retention is often cited. Or a Captain’s Log was pending.

Fri 1 Nov: 86.5kg (13st 9lb); body fat 17.8%
Fri 8 Nov: 84.5kg (13st 4lb); body fat 17.4%
Fri 15 Nov: 84.1kg (13st 3lb); body fat 17.4%

Loss so far: 2.4kg (6lb)

A recovery after having put on 0.9kg over the last 2 days, I’ve dropped all of that plus a bit more since yesterday (90 mins of 5-a-side last night helped)

The weight loss is definitely slowing as my body has become accustomed to me not snacking, so I expect it’ll be harder to lose the remaining 0.6kg to get to my target. But definitely on the right track.
