Now you have reverted back to silly and bitter mode, no one will be laughing and if they did who cares, for someone how wants barriers and understanding about people’s emotions, tolerance, equality etc etc.
your going to laugh because a different nationality manager won something for another country….

you sound bitter here.
Everyone will be laughing. They already are.

Sweden currently has a Danish manager. I feel similar ways about him, although winning anything is obviously out of question for us. But its still frankly humiliating that we can't muster to produce a manager for our own team and have to pick some lad from our eternal rivals.

Not to mention that I think the whole concept of "foreign managers" in national teams are a complete load of bullshit.

Orginally it made sense: when football was young, you needed "developers". The most successful Sweden manager of all time was Englishman George Raynor. It made sense back then in order to spread football - there wasn't any coaching courses or anything so you had to learn from where the knowledge was.

Now football has reached the level where there's competent managers and football knowledge on every single continent and no one - give or take some very poor countries - can really justify a foreign manager.

Imho FIFA should change the rules and not allow foreign managers in national teams because it really makes no sense.

Of course you will all be happy clappy if England go and win it

That's an understatement.

but in the eyes of the rest of the world it would be a laughter.

The rest of the world wouldn't care. When we won games with either Sven or Capello, no one cared that we had a foreign manager. We beat Germany 5-1 in Munich and I never heard any 'yeah but you had to get a foreign manager' nonsense. Just like no one cares where the manager and players are from when Madrid win the CL.

A German manager winning it for England is the final level of humiliation: age old arch rival on all levels, but unfortunately your country can't produce a man intelligent enough to compete with them, so you kneel and put them in charge.

Sometimes it's difficult to believe you're an adult.

I'm expressing similar things to many other posters in this thread, but because its me doing it you don't have to play the ball, you can play the man rather than have a discussion with those of your fellow compatriots who agree with me.

Correctamundo! Under the Kamikaze-Dane we would have to score five to get a draw in any big tournament. Mellberg or Rydström would have made sense.

Michael Owen, frequently mentioned as a golden generation player and "one you should of won the World Cup with" showed in his season with Real Madrid that he was technically inferior to their standards.

Michael Owen was a goal scorer. You could put Haaland in Real's squad and moan that he's technically inferior too.

A sign of the time is that Jude Bellingham is a key player for Real Madrid, whereas predecessors David Beckham and Michael Owen were there primarly for commercial reasons.

Madrid were much better with Beckham on the pitch, than off. They dropped him because they didn't like that he was leaving, and when they dropped him their form dropped and they were going to lose the title. Eventually they had to swallow their pride and ask him to play for them again, so he came back and won them the title.

The guy's got a proven track record at the highest level. Anyone has to be an improvement on a mentally arthritic, failed Middlesbrough manager.
Don’t agree. As Bayern Munich manager he won the league in his first season. Whoopy do! Kane joined the next season, became the highest scorer in the Bundesliga and they won nothing for the first time in 11 years. He took over from From Lampard and won the European Cup with Franks team.

This appointment is so typical of the FA who do not have a clue. He interviews well, the press love him for his quotes and that’s it. Piss up and brewery spring to mind.

No you're really not saying similar things to others. A couple of others feel it would devalue a win (not that I expect us to win anything, we probably won't) whereas you say we'd be a laughing stock and humiliated, and we're thick and on our knees (not sure if that was begging or showing fealty).

I'm reacting to the words you've written, not because it's you writing them. Sometimes I agree with things you write, but you do get a bit childish about England sometimes.

Yes, Michael Owen was a goal scorer. As was his rivals, Raul and Ronaldo. And yet some people think England should have won tournaments "blindfolded" with Owen as the main man?

Real Madrid dropped David Beckham in his final season at the club after losing seven of the first nine games where he started. Thats why they dropped him for Reyes: they wanted to win football games, not have him stay around - they were eager to get rid of him at that point. He then turned things around and the last six months of Real was his best at the club.

David Beckham won one title in four years with Real Madrid. He might be some sort of GOAT over there in Nigel Farages history writing but in reality his years at the club were considered a massive failure that he played a big part in.

Point of order but Brazil have on multiple occasions, and most would say they’re a top international team

I do agree though that this should be seen as a massive failure on the part of the Premier League in particular that no English talent has come through
They have indeed, but the last time was 50+ years ago... Foreign managers has managed Brazil for a total of seven games. As for appointing a manager from their biggest rival in international football, Argentina... never happening in a million years. The one exception to this happened in the 60s when Palmeiras dressed up as the Brazil national team for some sort of event and brought their Argentinian manager with them for that particular game.

So to be consistent, should foreign managers be banned from managing English clubs; for example, should it be unacceptable for an English club to be managed by a German manager

If foreign players are banned from playing in English clubs, then yes foreign managers should also be banned.

Likewise, if foreign players are banned from playing in the English national team, foreign managers also should be banned.

Consistency.
