Does Boris like Dom? Or does Dom have something on Boris?

Is Do mentally deranged, or is it just that he was the whipping (and wiping) boy at school, and this, in his mind is lay back?

I'm not a rocket scientist, but just don't get the approach.

I say that, assuming/hoping the British populous have a spine and brain. That is a concern as well.

The thought had crossed my mind. The question is what would get rid of this ghastly life-shortening criminally negligent 'government' the most quickly? One thing that is certain is the tories won't go to the pipple (first quiz question, which tory leader pronounced 'people' like that? And who wrote his rabid failure of a manifesto?) until they think they can win. That will be at the last minute before never by the look of it. So we are in for a five year term.

So do we want Boris to stay or go as leader of the party?

I fear that if Boris loses Cummings he may wilt like a stick of celery left in the sun, and move on to money and pasture new. Then the tories would elect someone more competent and less charismatic. Win for the country, so I'm in.

If Cummings stays it means he will have shown he is a winner, and only if the media decide to kill him will the house of fun collapse. It's a 'no' from me.

It may take a Major Tom moment to oust this shit, Cummings, though. Perhaps if the nation's favourite 'sir' (with apologies to crodonilson for mining the valley of bathos) might raise an eyebrow or more and Boris may feel a bit of shame....sorry, no, what was I thinking, and I have hardly had anything to drink. Yet.

And the longer it goes on the more time we have to forget......no I'd like Cummings gone now. Partly for the same reason that if a cat shits on my lawn I get the shovel out, and dispatch it yonder. We don't want shit lying about. Not even lying shit. And if he drags Boris with him it would be even more pleasing. Actually the country needs it. Trumpian dystopia just doesn't work in the UK.

The problem is that if Johnson goes, we could end up with Gove!

In all seriousness, I don't like the man. He seems like an odious little man running around behind the scenes basically determining policy without going through any public vetting.

But the media hysteria about this "story" is pathetic. It's another case of the media deciding what to report and generating news rather than reporting on it. They have time to fill, so they've picked a story of no importance whatsoever and it's shameful. They realise the country are now bored of the wall to wall Covid-19 overreaction and now they need something new to feed them. Disgraceful.

Really?

This from the BBC just now : -

Dominic Cummings, the PM’s top adviser, says he behaved “reasonably and legally” when he made a trip to an address in Durham at the end of March to be near relatives.

He says it was because his wife had Covid-19 symptoms and he was worried about childcare if he became ill as well.

The UK Government’s official advice says you shouldn’t visit another property - whether for isolation purposes or holidays.

But in law, the definition of a “reasonable excuse” has never been clear. Read more about what powers the police have.

So in summary , there’s no real proof that he broke the rules as what he did was open to interpretation.

I’m not a fan of this man at all but I can’t see he has done anything wrong as he does seem to have a reasonable excuse .

Looks like labour are using this to try to score political points .

You really cannot see what he's done wrong? REALLY?

How about this from their own ####ing guidence:

Can I leave my home if I'm self-isolating?
If you or someone you live with has symptoms of coronavirus:

do not leave your home for any reason – if you need food or medicine, order it online or by phone, or ask someone to deliver it to your home
do not have visitors in your home – including friends and family
do any exercise at home – you can use your garden, if you have one

Boris is a louche public school ponce, shag your girlfriend, apologise profusely and offer you money, laugh about it later for a few seconds with his pals, sort of cove. Cummings is an arriviste outsider with an inferiority complex that he over-compensates for with sneering arrogance, slogans, and cocky bravura. You ****ing *****. Boris is absolutely in love with him. The magic man who can deliver the strategy. To Boris, the man born to lead. And win. Win and lead.

And now it has all gone wrong. Terribly wrong. Boris may not realise how horribly, yet.

You'd need a heart of stone to not laugh.

Of course Cummings stays.

Resignation in politics belongs now to another age and another country.

Cummings breaks rules

I’m still confused as to how his full name has not trended on Twitter once throughout this, yet various nicknames, misspellings and hashtags have. I’m a bit of a Twitter novice so maybe I’m missing something, just find it complete bizarre.

Has your view now changed assuming you have seen the latest reports that he breached lockdown a second time, ie he allegedly isolated, came back to London and then went back to Durham. He is also reported as being seen out walking about 30 miles from his parents home. Bearing in mind his parents allegedly own a farm, one would have thought that was ample space to get your hourly exercise, notwithstanding that he shouldn't have been there in the first place!!!

It’s really odd, isn’t it? #dominiccummngs is currently trending but his full name isn’t.

Politicians have always been a law unto themselves such as with the expenses scandal in 2009 and issues such as this. I agree that he is in the wrong and setting a poor example but few people moaned when Boris got the virus at Number 10 then after his hospital period went to recouperate at Chequers. This from a PM who doesn't even know how many children he has fathered.

We should expect better, but these days my expectations in politicians are about as high as our chances of winning the Premier league this season.

You really think that the chief adviser to the Prime Minister repeatedly breaking the rules that he helped draw up and we were all instructed to obey is 'of no importance whatsoever?' Really? So what level of hypocrisy would you say it would become 'important'?

Aside from the reasons for these rules in the first place being totally ignored.

Am I missing some tongue in cheek humour here? Is it not simply the obvious the 'cumming' part of cummings would be picked up by porn censors and kept out of the trending list. A search of 'cummings' brings up loads of stuff about tonight's ol' Dom.

I did wonder that and ask the question if that was the case earlier in this thread.

This is all such bollox. He’s ****ed up big time and simply has to resign. BJ should have nailed this immediately, but he doesn’t have the minerals (or he knows Cummings has so much dirt on him that he’ll get slaughtered).

That’s the point isn’t it. Anyone else would have been forced to resign hours ago but Johnson (and Gove) are so scared of Dom, they’re going to try and bullshit their way out of this. Looks like they’re going to bring the rest of their poxy cabinet down with them.

Hopefully it is the beginning of the end of this toxic administration.

The oddness of course that he isn't a politician. Under normal circumstances he'd be gone. What hold has Cummings over The Prime Minister ?

The accused still in control of the communication ?

Even Boris Johnson wouldn't refer to the Guardian and The Mirror as "campaigning newspapers". The Prime Minister has lost control of his senior advisor, not that he had much control before.

I can't see how that is the reason... How come all the other mispelled variations of his name which include "Cum" Or "Cumm" rank in the top 20 of the twitter trends, but the correct spelling doesn't even make the listings?

It's not a profanity filter issue as these Twitter users are able to use the correct spelling of the hashtag just fine - https://twitter.com/search?q=#dominiccummings&src=typed_query

A 13 year old boy dies alone in hospital because his family can’t visit him. Many people have missed funerals because they’re restricted to ten people.
But it’s not important that one of the people who, helped make the rules hasn’t bothered to keep them!
