Why can't all lesbians be like this?

In my view it is obnoxious that any teacher would betray the trust that parents place in them to educate their children. It also disquieting that the thread starter, in education services himself, posts the story not with objectivity in mind but at a schoolboyish level of humour akin to pubescent males sniggering behind the bycycle sheds with a porno mag.

It's spelt 'bicycle' by the way

Oh for fucks sake. He's not on this board because he's in education, he's on here because he's an Albion supporter. We all come on here to blow off steam. I'm an economist; does that mean that every time we talk about the economy I should retain my stiff upper lip and have a serious in depth discussion, or am I allowed to take the piss out of Gordon Brown and his mis-management?

There are some valid points from the pro-noncing clique (joke) and the abuse of position is an absolute scandal from a teacher. It has happened before and will happen again, but it is an absolute no no from the vast majority of teachers, legal age, almost legal, does not matter. I know teachers who block ex pupils, now very much 'legal' from being facebook friends as they still feel it is inappropriate.

The fact for me is the sinister, schoolboy comments that do seem to display a real ignorance on the damage this woman has done to this child, potentially.

TescoExpress's daft quasi legal analysis is hysterical , but offers no insight at all into why these crimes might be crimes in the first place from a human perspective.

What I'm annoyed about is that they didn't print a picture of the 15 year old girl on the front page of the Times as well for balance. I had to just imagine what she looked liked in my wank fantasy last night.

Errr..........this is NSC, a place for bored Brighton fans at work to take the piss out of everything and everyone. That's why the majority of us are here in the first place (or should that be fist place).

Of course not - his starting position is that the sentence is harsh. If you disagree with him, then it's up to you to highlight why the crime is a crime from a human perspective. And you haven't actually done that either.

Yes it is NSC. It's just that a few people recently have made it seem like that stands for Nonce Supporters Club.

So am I !

:clap2::kiss:

I know teachers who block ex pupils, now very much 'legal' from being facebook friends as they still feel it is inappropriate.

My girlfriend is a teacher, and she has two facebook accounts; one for her real friends, and a seperate one (with a lot less iformation/pictures) for the kids; the only reason she has done this is that it's a good way of contacting the kids to organise trips and contact them outside of school hours if required. She's even organised a couple of detentions using it, and was amazed when the kids actually turned up! Even with the 'school' account, she is very careful to only add the kids that she teaches, and has added her head of department so that he can vouch for her if anyone alleges anything inappropriate has happened.

I think the point you are commenting on is that it beggars belief anyone could have any sympathy for someone in a position of responsibilty having sex with a minor.

Which is fine; but others disagree with you. For once, I'd like to agree to disagree on this one without it descending into a binfest. And no, my opinion wouldn't differ if the 15yo girl was my daughter either.
sure lets agree to disagree,im not commenting on the fact that anyone could have sympathy,of course there are circumstances where sympathy could be shown, we all know that 15 year old girls can look or act older , that doesnt mean that this should be acted upon, im just astonished that certain people are as good as condoning this WOMANS actions with a TEENAGE GIRL,and genuinely , if the girl in the case was your daughter, your opinion wouldnt change ? i dont believe you can say that until it actually took place, hopefully , your convictions wont be tested, as usual !! ( had to get that last dig in !)

No, that's right. I'm sure my convictions won't be tested. Afterall, you know me better than I do.

Seeing as people these days are hounded out of their jobs for making what many would say were innocent and jocular remarks on the internet, then take it as a piece of advice.

A lot of people seem to be labouring the point that she was just shy of the age of consent, in my opinion the age of consent should be a lot higher in gay relationships, im sure somebody will produce lots of statistics pointing out that gays know that they are gay at that age, i just don believe that this applies across the board, sixteen is far too young to make such an important decision.
