Some input from Caicedo's agent in this article:

Caicedo’s agent, Manuel Sierra, has told SussexWorld his client values the Champions League highly but has admitted the player will respond to all contact that comes in, regardless of European qualification.

Asked within the last 24 hours whether Caicedo has a preference on his destination, Sierra told SussexWorld: “Let’s see [what happens]. We are open to listen [for all offers].”

Neither Caicedo nor his agent value anything other than money if he goes to Chelsea.
Truly you do not understand how Chelsea is viewed from Ecuador. Every Ecuadorian player would love to play for them.

But Caicedo: PLEASE DO NOT GO TO CHELSEA!!
No spirit, no European football (so probably less time on the field), huge pression and criticism.

Staying at Brighton would be ideal for him.
But any other club would fit him better than Chelsea.

Despite him being a Man United fan.

The transfer window is just an endless stream of shite. It’s simple, we’ve seen it before - if a club meets the valuation and it makes sense for our club and player then he can go. The agent and Fab & Twatter can bitch and opine all they want - but that’s the deal.

I get why Romano loves Brighton transfers because our resolve makes for binfests that builds his profile and bank account.

The media NEEDS content during the close season and Rice & Caicedo are (along with Kane) the continuing transfer soap operas.

We are no longer under the radar but still underestimated.

Agree however it is very funny reading all of the grizzling chelsea fans as the price creeps up in £10m increments knowing their desperate club will have their pants pulled down and pay it.

Interesting. Many ncs’ers thought Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea wouldn’t be attractive to our players. Due to one season out of the CL.

I get the impression that young players and their agents see beyond May 2024.

We do it as well. It can't be stopped so let it be. Also feels a bit immoral that a player can't speak to other parties. They're not slaves

Harsh. Bellingham has already stated he only went to Real Madrid because he loves them. It had nothing to do with the tens of millions he’s earned from. Fans can be so cynical. There are still players who only want to play for certain clubs. They just happen to be the same ones offering tens of millions.

Article in The Athletic just up....

Chelsea also saw a £60m offer for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo rejected two weeks ago.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side admire Caicedo but intend to be disciplined with their valuation. They are studying multiple alternatives to Caicedo, 21, including Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone, AC Milan’s Sandro Tonali, and Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella.
