There are MUSLIMS alive and well in this country. They breed. They call their sons Mohammed (or similar) and they tend to like having sons. If this affects your life in a negative way I'd love to hear what your experiences are. The 'this is England' reaction is all a bit boring and Daily Mail-tastic.

I Think the point is that for it to be number 2 there must be a hefty proportion of babies being named Mohammed and even more shockingly its more common than all but 1 British name.
Is that really how it should be in England? ???

With respect Lokki your reaction of assuming someone who questions it must be a racist is equally boring and predictable.

What do they (Muslims) call their girls then?

Do they use good old tried and tested English names like the rest of us?

With respect Uncle, f*** off. Where have I said anyone is racist? What I have said is that they are over reacting to this statistic which is quite mis-leading.

Lokki, you seem to have not understood US loves statistics and figures. He cares about highest grossing films, X Factor Votes, IMDB scores, the singles charts, it's how he makes sense of the world

Righto, you little englanders. Shall we have a look at the statistics?

The top 100 list comprises a total of 209,234 boys born in 2008. The name Mohammed in all it's forms comprised 6,591 boys. This represents 3.2% of the sample in the list.

Lo and behold, guess what the population of the UK are Muslim? Yep 3%.

Basically it's in line with the population trends in the UK and isn't really anything to get worked up about.
