Happened at a Friday night game at the Amex against Leeds the season you won promotion. Just as we got on a train at Brighton station for the Amex, a group of Brighton fans punched a young Leeds fan about 15 years old in the face. Other Leeds fans went to his aid but there was no more punches thrown. The Brighton guy who hit him was big - with a full beard and wore a full-length black leather coat. During the game one of our groups other half went to the ladies and didn't return so after the game we searched everywhere for her and waited for someone to check the ladies so we were one of the last out of the ground. As we walked past the away end to walk towards the station, we recognised the same big fella with his small gang picking off Leeds fans on their own. We went to the stewards who stepped in but a few minutes later the same group were at it again.

Well it certainly wasn't the person I was thinking of as he would have been posing next to his Bentley in Bennet's field car park by then

It changes perspective on a lot of the comments on here though talking about bans, fan behaviour etc as there’s no evidence at all that it was even a fan - the Watford fan tweeting it even said it probably wasn’t

Exactly, but let’s not get the facts get in the way of a good story eh , OP should have done a bit more due diligence before coming up with that title [emoji6]

Exactly.

Getting twatted one on West St is a rite of passage for most young Brightonians. Once or twice back in the day it may have involved football mobs but if you called every incident on that street football related the game would be banned before you could say Margaret Thatcher.

In a pile of football shirts
Reading now that this happened after the match, in West Street, near Wetherspoons, how is this in any way linked to football/Brighton fans?

Fisticuffs on the train before the game . All looked a bit handbags but a bit of claret suggested a couple shots landed . From what could see it was Watford trying to take the piss but not working

Another thread here….’not going to the game’……’no colours’……etc. Thread title is misleading. It was ‘A random punch thrown in West Street’, not trouble at the game……….

Maybe the thread title should be changed to 'Random punch thrown in West Street'
