I didn't say can I said will

Just watch me the whole argument about having to pay for something you do not need was finally put to bed with the options of travel vouchers at the Amex, just because the companies getting this additional business cannot do their job properly is not a STH issue.

Buses and trains between Brighton and Lewes already have swipe card technology up and working

Correct, been working on the project for the last three months.

I think the club may sneakily get around the opt out clause by raising ST prices to incorporate travel then offer travel as a 'freebie'. As you know Withdean didn't have an opt out, this season it was done for tax purposes, maybe the burden of the freeloaders jumping trains/buses has bitten the club hard on the ass, although I am in agreement that the train companies/bus companies could have staff correctly checking for vouchers.

So what was the benefit to the club tax wise doing it this way ?

Can't remember the details but Perry said it was for 'tax' purposes. Otherwise what was the point in changing the Withdean model, which we had all become familiar with? Just charge everybody £30 with the ST for vouchers and the club doesn't run at a huge loss. I can't imagine the train/bus companies taking a hit for the freeloaders, although surely it is their responsibility to ensure that people don't travel free.

Public transport fares (and the Travel Voucher is just that) are zero rated for VAT purposes. VAT is charged on football match tickets. An integrated football match ticket that includes a travel element has VAT charged on the whole transaction, thereby reducing the proportion of the total payment that is available to pay the transport operators, compared with the income from separate transactions.

Reintroducing an integrated match + travel ticket will necessarily increase the cost to purchasers by about 40 pence a game, without the Club or the transport operators benefiting at all.

So in effect we can expect around £10 added to Season Ticket cost ?

Sounds like a good idea then Lord B, we did it at Withdean & I don't remember anyone bleating on about it, 40p is neither here nor there

Anyone travelling to games from Glynde (as I do) won't be too happy about a £2.00 voucher having to be paid for with the match ticket.

Glynde is outside the travel zone, so you still have to buy a return ticket to Lewes (which costs £3.10). With the £2.00 voucher, that makes the cost for return travel to Falmer £5.10.

A fully paid return rail ticket from Glynde to Falmer is only £4.30. Adding a £2.00 voucher to the price of a match ticket, will make it 80 pence more expensive to travel to games than it is now. Vouchers are supposed to offer a DISCOUNT, not put the fares UP. It'll be worse if there's a 40 pence VAT surcharge to pay as well.

Who is forcing you?

No-one yet but if it becomes an all inclusive package I am sure those that also purchase a parking space will be delighted to pay more as well as others for something they don't require.

Also those that are part of travel clubs by coach will be delighted to pay extra for nothing as well.......

No one is forcing you. You are perfectly entitled to take your custom elsewhere. It's a free market  You'd be doing us all a favour if you did.

Exactly the type of response you would expect from BHAFC, I assume you work for them

No I don't. But it's your beloved free market at work isn't it.

You never did answer my question about champagne socialism either.

Oh god a leftie, I want answers to everything to justify the reason.

It is exactly not a free market when something maybe imposed on you with no choice.

As I said, do everyone a favour and take your trade elsewhere. You're perfectly entitled to, plenty of other clubs and choices out there. Or are you saying Brighton/football should be a special case?
