Exactly who has stripped the squad?

Er, still McGhee!

Granted, no-one's about to fault him for the sales of Harding, Virgo etc. However, there's now a situation where a young striker playing in the Premiership and the League One top scorer both began last season playing for us, but were forced out by McGhee and sold for peanuts.

I'd call that a pretty decent example of squad-stripping.

A successful winning team? Do you mean the team that lost against Bournemouth, hammered at Brentford, lost at Withdean to one of the worst teams in the league Stockport, lost to Lincoln in the cup and then 4-1 to Bristol?

Yeah, that was a team that was so great it could have just managed itself.

In the 19 games before MM turned up that season our record was

W 10 D 3 L 6

That includes a narrow defeat away to Middlesborough. 3 dodgy results on the bounce as the manager was having thoughts of jumping ship does not suggest it was a bad start to the season.

McGhee was in charge when we were beat by Lincoln and Bristol City btw.

For systematically dismantled read got rid of bad eggs or had to sell to stay in business. Dont tell me your unhappy Leon Knight & CKR have gone.

Why should we be happy we lost 2 strikers that could be saving our season right now?

Bad eggs? McGhee seemed to have alot of them didn't he? I think that says more about his man management than anything else.

McGhee's bad management and tactics drove both strikers out of the club and for peanuts too. I'd have either player back tomorrow if we played a system to suit them. Not just Mark's hoof ball to a 5 foot striker

What about his bizarre wasteful signings, shit tactics and substitutions and poor man management then?

Or is all that down to playing at an athletics track and having no money too?

DUH, HELLO!?

Wasteful sigingings = Darren Currie

Poor Man Management = Steve Coppell Freezing out a player who would later net the club £1.5 million after helping to take us up to th championship and keep us there.

Shit tactics = Firstly system that helped us beat Swindon and Bristol City teams that had totally outplayed us earlier in the season. Then quided us to our highest league finish in 14 years.

Substitutions = Doug Loft off after 31 mins yesterday.

A ridiulously loaded question such as that didn't deserve an answer.

Some balance and realism is what I gave it.

Wowee he signed Darren Currie. I'll trump it with Federico Turienzo. Or maybe Molango? Or Santos?

Poor man management - CKR, Kuipers, Knight, McCammon etc, the list of players he pissed off who ultimately ended up leaving us (Kuipers almost) reads like a Who's Who of Brighton & Hove Albion.

Bristol City? The game was headed for penalties until we won a penalty that never was. You named TWO games which we won. Shame he couldn't have won a lot more during last season's embarassment of a campaign eh? Face it, he had the tactical nous of a blind, deaf, dumb and spasticated todder.

What about yesterday? That was Dean Wilkins' team.

McGhee is head and shoulders a better manager than Wilkins.

Wilkins challenging for the premiership in 5 years, is this the Wilkins with 4 defeats in a row who took off our only striker yesterday and replaced him with a 36 year old defender. Wilkins 5 years in charge , Southern Counites league with the highlight being BHAFC V Lewes

Look, we had lost our classiest midfielder in Rodger. We had lost Henderson and been left with Chris fecking McPhee up front. Watson was crocked. Both defences and refs were copping on to diver Knight.

There was a huge job of work to be done to get us up and McGhee did it. Contrast that with what you will be watching over the next few months and frankly you don't know how bloody lucky you were
