Tragic news. I didn't know the young man but I know who his brother is through non League Circles. Our thoughts are with them.

Maybe so, but what if their parents didn't know about it? I'm a perfectly well rounded kid with straight A's at GCSE and very decent A level results, now studying at uni, but I went out drinking at 14 in the park until 11 at night or later. It's part of growing up.

This post may seem a bit pointless, but i'm just saying try to see if from a wider perspective, kids out at 11pm doesn't equal awful parents or degenerate kids.

I see your point. But I really dislike individual cases studies being used to argue points (either way). It's all about the bigger picture to me.

As a general rule I'd say that if you were a child who was allowed to go out until 11 o'clock at the age of 14 drinking, you'd be a damn site more likely to be involved in criminal activity compared to a child who was at home every Saturday night.

Rest in peace Connor. I have mates who were friends with him and it's horrible. I had my friend pass away in August at the age of 16 and it's never a nice thing to have to deal with.

Thought are with his family and friends.

The two boys in question are not your normal 14 year old size, both could easily pass for 17/18.

i've always had respect for those who can see both sides of a debate but i've punched people when I was a kid and I've driven whilst being over the limit, if I had killed someone during this' folly of youth' I would expect to be dealt with to the full extent of the law. I hope he gets 25 years to "live with this"

and more lives are ruined. Sorry I know it is probably not the time or place, and I don't have the answer. But we all know what will happen to these kids if they get a long stretch inside and we really don't need more career criminals knocking about.

This awful event has troubled me all day and driving home earlier this evening,seeing the pile of flowers where the poor lad lost his life,it really made me feel sick to the pit of my stomach.I kept thinking of how I would react if it had been one of my children and quite honestly,I don't think I could cope with the utter grief and horror of such a tragedy.My heart goes out the the boys family and pray they manage to carry on with their life and learn to cope with the pain and anguish they must be feeling.It is a senseless waste of a young life of a son who went to enjoy a Saturday night out,only to never return home.

Another 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has been charged with manslaughter and will reappear in court next Tuesday (15 May).

Surely Murder in this case would be very tough to prove.

Still the lad arrested on Manslaughter still will be in court, sad world we live in now very sad and scary
