Yep, great fun to watch that. It's not run properly though, Clancy lost out because of judging mistakes - the judge have to decide by eye, and if the last cyclist doesn't stop, the others may relax with that rider behind them and find themselves eliminated.

They now ride with an indicator on the handlebars to tell them when they're out. No excuse for not stopping really.

I think they could prevent that by giving a 5 point penalty to anyone who doesn't leave the track before the next sprint.

Exactly. Your light flashes, you stop by the next sprint, or points penalty.

British Cycling performance director Dave Brailsford has been telling BBC Olympic Breakfast about the hard work behind Great Britain's success:

"You've got to have great riders with talent and commitment. You need both, and then it's all about good coaching. We start by analysing the demands of the event we want to win and then prioritise, because you know you can't win absolutely everything, and work back to where we are today, create a plan and execute it.

Brailsford has also been expanding on the idea of 'marginal gains':

"The whole principle came from the idea that if you broke down everything you could think of an improved it by 1% and put it back together again you will get a significant increase.

"There's fitness and conditioning but there are other things that might seem on the periphery like sleeping in the right position, having the same pillow when you are going away and training in different places, hygiene.

"Do you really know how to clean your hands? Without leaving bits between your fingers? If you do things like that properly, you'll get ill a little bit less. They're tiny things but if you clump them all together it makes a big difference."

Looks like its all down to the scratch race again if Laura wins the 500m

She will have to beat Hammer in the scratch race and the 500m to win it, seems feasible. She should just ride in Hammer's wheel no matter what, as it is for Hammer to chase the breaks as the leader.

Cycling / Triathlon steal:
What's that 15 second penalty for?
Can the French be penalised for being dull?

TV comentators said it was for getting onto the bike too early, they couldnt make it out but said the officals had video evidence.

Do you have to just stop and count to 15 with your fingers...

Can't believe we're being stuffed with a penalty.

The French are basically the spectators that made the most effort to watch the medalists.

Nice job, probably would have been gold and silver.
