Are you sure ???

coppell was our manager when sidwell was signed for reading, it was about halfway through the season

readings manager was pardew before coppell

so yes, yes i am sure

and as for ingirmarsson, he had already returned to wolves, after making it clear he didn't want to play in division 2/league 1

so coppell didn't "nick" him either

He is hardly an Albion legend...A Palace legend definately, but certainly not an Albion one...

Albion & England forever.

No Fence sitting my arse!! i did ..............he is not a Brighton legend because he never did anything to qualify to be one, here is how i see it.................

1) Very skilful winger who played in one of the most entertaining Man United sides
2) Absolute tosser for taking out a TRUE legend Peter Ward with a knee high tackle before my very eyes at the Goldstone......most unlike the gentleman footballer
3) Palace manager....nuff said
4)Skilfull Albion manager for Ten Minutes only
5) Very supportive in our fight for a new ground, always had a soft spot for us and realises our true potential............genuine nice bloke!!
6) He has V.D (Rumour has it!)

IMO this does not qualify him to be an Albion Legend just a Palace Scumbag.skillfull winger, ,Albion loving, Legend Hacking, OK bloke

The whole point was it was supposed to be an "either/or" poll but in retrospect it needed more options. This has developed into an interesting debate over the merits of Adams, Taylor and Coppell.

Just found this passage about Peter Taylor:

Interesting when Dick Knight said we'd had 10 managers in the last 10 years. I did some research. We've had 15 managers in the last 20 years. Dunno if I've missed anyone out. No one mentions Horton these days.

Jan 1987 - Dec 1993......Barry Lloyd (resigned)
Dec 1993 - Nov 1995.....Liam Brady (resigned)
Nov 1995 - Dec 1996.....Jimmy Case (sacked)
Dec 1996 - Feb 1998.....Steve Gritt (sacked)
Feb 1998 - Jan 1999......Brian Horton (quit to join Port Vale)
Jan 1999 - Apr 1999......Jeff Wood (caretaker then full time manager; sacked)
Apr 1999 - Oct 2001......Micky Adams (quit to join Sheffield United)
Oct 2001.....................Bob Booker (caretaker)
Oct 2001 - Apr 2002......Peter Taylor (quit to join Hull City)
Jul 2002......................Bob Booker (caretaker)
Aug 2002 - Oct 2002.....Martin Hinshelwood (sacked)
Oct 2002 - Oct 2003.....Steve Coppell (quit to join Reading)
Oct 2003.....................Bob Booker (caretaker)
Oct 2003 - Sep 2006.....Mark McGhee (sacked)
Sep 2006 - present.......Dean Wilkins (caretaker then full time manager)

Peter Taylor did not quit to join Hull City. He left the club and didn't work for a few months, he then joined Hull City if I remember correctly.

I put him down as a legend but am not so sure now after reading all the posts. Was a very good manager for us though and it's a shme he didn't stay. Has been good when it comes to Falmer too. I think I will go with the fence option now!!!
