Fabulous film , one of my favourites. Not a true story though but based on the short story Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption by Steven King.
Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman are both excellent in that film.

It's based on a steven king novella, not a true story.

It is, imo, one of the greatest movies ever made, and is frequently in top film lists.

It's based on a Stephen King novella called "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" . It's in a book of 4 short stories by King called Different Seasons which also includes the short story that the film Stand By Me was based on.

Fantastic film. A slightly older film based on a King novel is Carrie, which is also fantastic but slightly more disturbing..

Has anyone else seen it hahahhahahahaha. Yes, I am sure many people have. It should have won the oscar for best picture that year but for some reason forrest gump won it... Seriously WHY!
