You will see that my comment was to the quote from Soton Seagull. Is that Titanic is disguise?

How the hell do you 'disguise' something the size of the Titanic ??

Paint it white, and pretend it's an iceberg perhaps ? :jester:

The way southampton are dropping at the moment you may as well have Leonardo Di Caprio up front for them. :lolol:

By the way Icebergs are green aren't they. I prefer Rocket, especially with a Balsamic dressing.

Joe Bloggs. Joined the AMS last May just so he can go to Cardiff. It is the only Brighton match he has ever been to in his life.

Pasty. Sesaon ticket holder since we have been at Withdean. Season ticket holder at Gillingham. Supporter for 31 years.

Joe Bloggs gets Spurs ticket. Pasty doesn't. Fair ?? BOLLOCKS !

Did not think people had to be AMS members to get a ticket for Cardiff. Remember that we did not sell out our allocation of tickets for that game so they were on open sale (correct me if I am wrong though)

Im not a season ticket holder. I have 2 children and I'm a part time dad so I only see them saturdays when majority of games are. However I went Boxing day, QPR and Watford recently and yes I went to Cardiff and get to go to most midweek home games.

I did used to be a season ticket holder at the Goldstone in days before marriage and kids. I have been to Gillingham a fair few times as well as most games at Withdean for the first two seasons and like to consider myself a loyal fan.

But I do think that season ticket holders should have had 48 hours from which to apply in advance. In the days of the Goldstone they had to ring or pick up their ticket even if you live outside the area and there was no postal lottery I believe.

They should have then gone to AMS etc as STH are AMS anyway.

Spurs away allocation would have sold out. Like Liverpool in 1991 and Man Utd in 1993 so the club could have staggered it. Remember MP said they had to apply for an extra 1000 tickets, no doubt this was from STHs, AMS and general punters enquiries.

Season Ticket holders snapped up most of the Hereford away tickets (rightly so) and I missed out on the general sale, BUT I obtained a ticket for the home end. Not ideal but I wasnt going to miss the (arguably) most important match in our history.

STH who were not successful could have tried to get a ticket by this method. They would just have to keep quiet like myself and my two mates did at Hereford.

I do have a Spurs ticket and to be honest if I was a STH and didnt get one I would be annoyed that I didnt get 48 hrs to apply in advance before general sale so I do see their point.

T'was me, in a sarcastic/ironic post of my own.

Calm down DTG. No one is trying to claim that the ticket staff are corrupt. They do a good job in often trying circumstances.

My my, there are a few touchy people on here today.

STH's can go f*** themselves if they think they deserved some kind of priority fo this AWAY game. Well done on being able to buy a ST every season and contributing to the budget but if we had drawn Spurs at home and it was the first cup game of the season you lot would have got in for NOTHING. This is the advantage you hold over the rest of us as far as the cup goes. Quit f***ing moaning and dno't re aply for a ST if you are unhappy.

For the six millionth time, THE FIRST CUP GAME IS NOT FREE, IT IS PART OF THE COST OF THE SEASON TICKET.

Hope it got through this time, but I doubt it.

Personally, I think a loyalty scheme for away attendees to give them priority, followed by STHs would be fairest, as I don't see why regular away supporters should miss out, whether they contribute to the coffers or not. The players and management have said how important this loyal band are on numerous occasions, and the numbers involved wouldn't be difficult to track on a database. Christ, I'll even create the damn thing for the club if they think it's that difficult!

And the first cup game that is included in the season ticket nearly always goes on the League Cup match.

Just bung the folks at the shop a wad at Christmas and they makes sure that somehow your post arrives before everyone else's. Funny that eh?

First of all you claim that staff at the club are corrupt, then you claim that a mythical fan who has never been to a game will be 'making a killing' (i.e. presumably selling off tickets at inflated prices, what else could it possibly mean) yet at the same time will be attending the match, which appears to confound the laws of space and time.

Out of interest, were you at Lincoln in the FA Cup last year?

Kieron, what i meant was that Mr B could have more than 1 AMS and could sell his tickets to Spurs supporters that live down here. Out of all of this palaver my big fear is being sat near a spurs fan. To me that would be the worst thing of all because many Albion fans would do anythin to get a ticket.

As for the staff at the shop being corrupt. I thought that had been clarified. But while your on it, are they not allowed to recieve cards and presents from customers? Is christmas banned at the Club Shop?

Just thought I'd confirm that you did not have to be in the AMS to get a ticket for the play-off final. I bought my Dad a ticket and he definitely isn't signed up to the AMS, despite encouragement from me!

If a Spurs fan really wanted to pay over the odds for a match ticket, surely they would do this against decent opposition. They have plenty of league matches during the season that do not sell out, and could easily go watch these at face value. The laws of supply and demand are that if someone was touting tickets they could make far more money out of selling to an Albion fan. However , by the time Mr B had paid a tenner for his AMS membership for each member of his family, the cost to him would then be £47 per ticket, he is unlikely to recover this and make a profit from selling to our fans.

As for the club ticket office, I think they have done as well as they can in trying circumstances, clearly the w@nka who threatened a member of the shop because he did not get a ticket does not believe in Christmas.

BTW GP brought one of his harem members (there are many of course) to HEREFORD in '97. She had never seen us play before, (or since I suspect) and had no idea that the match was a tad important to both teams. Now that was well naughty given the number of people in genuine anguish about missing out on that one.

With these sorts of games you always get the odd armchair home fan that comes along for the P-up. Sorry i do not want those sorts of people around me. In my WHL panacea i want 100% noise from 100% albion fans... bring it on.

As for GP cant we stop him from escorting "a lady" (are they all called emily!!?) to the game. Or is it to avoid his Millwall experience.

So basically free then seeing as you don't pay for it seperately and your season ticket is cheaper than the price of 23 single tickets.

Cardiff was NOT AMS. I think you had to fill in a form but you didn't have to pay anything extra or join AMS.

Bloody hell, if everyone that was entitled to a Cardiff ticket was able to claim a Spurs one it would get interesting on here!

I think the club did their best given the circumstances. A combination of limited time before tickets had to go on sale, the club trying to get all the tickets out by Christmas, an initial small allocation of tickets due to us not having two pennies to rub together to pay for the full allocation, the Christmas break when the club offices are very busy with lots of matches in a short space of time, dodgy post at Christmas time, and 15,000+ people who are either AMS or season ticket holders meant that there was always going to be dissapointed people.
