I remember him signing....from a Greek side maybe ? as well as Johnny Byrne. He was a big fucker was Mike Small :(

I'll find out for you mate

Didn't he retire through injury, real pity that, he was a pretty decent centre forward.

at home
millwall 1976 odd ( surgical masks) and then away later in the year. West ham (1978/9) Everton away 1981(?) Sunderland away ( 1978 odd) - about 20 of us only on a tuesday night. Leicester City away in the 80's various Portsmouth games. Oxford FA Cup home. Chelsea home, Tottenham Home twice, Arsenal home and away

Fulham home when we were behind the west stand trying to get at the board, their fans were having a huge punch up by the entrace to the South West corner and we didnt know.

palace...many times.

One of the worst I can remember was Millwall away when farrington scored and we won 1-0........I was truly petrified coming out the ground.

Anyone remember Plymouth when we were promoted ( when Hull lost I think it was)...the car park was carnage after that

The Friday night in the town centre was not too good either

Quite right Coventry. I also remember a friend of mine running into a butcher's shop near Blatchington Road. We'd got off a bus and saw 200 Tottenham idiots walking at the top of George Street. Of course in those times the police operations were pretty hopeless in comparison to now.

Does anyone remember the copper who used to patrol in front of the South Stand in the mid to late seventies with the big beard. Chants of Catweazle la la la .... everytime he walked past.

Another memory for me would be around the time of the Babes in the Wood murders in Wild park possibly the day after the bodies were found I was heading upto Ipswich. The was a big crew onboard including mad Jock who was walking through the train with a pint of vodka on the go. Anyhoo the london to Ipswich train broke down i think around the Colchester area, after about an hour some of the Brighton firm took matters into their own hands and went on to the track to start walking up the embankment and a train went past with a few tractor boys on it and the lads started hurling balast at it, f***ing hilairious at the time but now im a little older not quite so cleaver! Anyway we didnt make it to the game so some of the boys went into Colchester for a tear up instead!

I have no problem being called a girl at all. I am still here.

I had a very good friend who was a big brave chap, giving it all the I am,thinking football violence was all that life had to offer, who followed barnsley and was one of their "names". Problem is he was so badly beaten at a game in the 80's he died of a brain hemmorage at the age of 26.

I was on the broken down train which was evently towed in to Manningtree at about 5 o clock that evening. We crossed the platform and had a beer and waited for the first train back to London, when the train arrived it was full of returning Albion fans.We did get off at Colchester in our masses but there was no tear up.

In a cave
Canvey Island away in the cup, that was a little arse clencher.

That was a fun weekend. A few of us went down to Southend on the Saturday for an evening out. We had failed to look at the fixtures and found Stoke City had been playing Southend in the afternoon. The evening was carnage and one of our lot had to be stitched up after being set upon by a big group of Stoke fans!! It was fun and games all evening with the Police trying to keep Southend, Stoke and Brighton fans in different pubs!

Canvey on the Sunday was also fun. My biggest memory is of somebody throwing a motorbike at someone as the fan clashed as everyone left the ground. People said it was West Ham fans down for a bit of fun and games. Never found out if that was true!
