I couldn't agree more. I tried my best to warn people as well.

Which was very decent of you. The first I knew I was about to cease being a member of the AMS was when I read your sticky on NSC when it was too late.

As for the other forms of, supposedly, communicating this:

1. Argus - Not sure it should be required of every Albion fan to buy the Argus in order to keep abreast of club communications.

2. Programme, matchday announcements. Quite how this is relevant to an away ticket policy is beyond me.

3. NSC. NSC is crap. FACT.

I completely concede that it is unrealistic for the Albion to send a letter to every AMS member - the cost would be prohibitive. And I completely understand the intention of clearing out the glory hunters to try and leave the genuine fans. But I still think this has been poorly communicated and, possibly, breaches contract law.

Yours,

Former AMS member, Somerset

You made a statement saying it would hold up in a court of law. I thought you could back it up.

FFS get over yourself.
I made a statement about a contract.
I know it wasn't what YOU wanted to hear and I apologise,as I said why would I want to back it up I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE AWAY MEMBERSHIP SCHEME.

No it wouldn't. The cost would have been a second class stamp per AMS member and a bit of an envelope print run over the Summer months. Plenty of change from a tenner.

Good point. Although from what I recall reading it was either very well hidden on there or you needed some sort of secret URL in order to find it.

But if everyone had received ample lead time and notice there would be no incoming tenners.

Please don't start having a go at me because people are daring to have a go at you.
I wonder why I don't use this board or go to games anymore.:nono:

KSA has already explained that it isn't a contract but a scheme. If you're not using this board then how come I can read your posts?

It's a f***ing contract - money has been exchanged for the provision of a service. At least for those that paid for AMS membership anyway.

For most of us who didn't pay to join the AMS, my vague recollections of University business law would have me guessing at it not being a contract as consideration had not passed on both sides.

A contract is formed when money changes hands for goods or services.
Sorry the scheme description backs YOUR arguement up so that's OBVIOUSLY the right explanation.
Get your head out of the sand, some people think it's a rip off and a court would also find against the football club.
I should've known really not to say anything wrong about this football club shouldn't I :nono:

Not seen the numbers for AMS membership but your figures suggest that's the cost of mailing 25,000 AMS members at 24p a throw.

These 25,000 AMS members have paid a tenner apiece, or quarter of a million quid in total. Nice little earner for the club. especially if they can persuade some people to pay it twice

I don't want to get pedantic here but a contract is merely a promise or agreement between two parties. Therefore a scheme can include contractual obligations. When the Albion accept your tenner it creates a contractual relationship between the club and the AMS member.

But as Easy has said IT'S ONLY A TENNER

No. A contract is formed when consideration is passed on both sides. Of course, typically, the consideration on one side of a contract is usually money, or a monetary instrument.

Didn't most of us get into the AMS for free?

Ignore me, I'm being pedantic. Your point is valid.

Not all of them as some would have got on as season ticket holders originally (free of charge).

I couldn't care less about what you think I want to hear. It doesn't affect me. I have gold membership.
What I find amusing is that you are ranting about something you say you couldn't care less about.

I guess that sums up why you're a Tory and I'm Socialist then Yorkie. We both have gold memberships, but I'm still naturally drawn to ranting about an obvious social injustice. My fault, I'm sure
