The Blue Anchor have installed two rows of overhead electric heating the full length of the marquee.

Well its not really an outdoor seating arangement then is ? and I suspect they`ll get the local council on their case sooner or later.

But if they`ve got round the ban - good luck to them.
I have never understood why you cannot have a smoking and a non- smoking bar. As long as non-smoking staff are not forced to go into the smoking rooms then what does it matter ?

I think that the law is that the area for smoking must be 70% uncovered. Different councils have different views on the application of this. Guildford council would not allow a pub in Ripley with a central courtyard to put up a large umbrella as it covered too large an area of the open sky but the council in Bridport allows a pub there to have their garden covered with 4 very large umbrellas which virtually makes the garden closed in.
