Closest to me is the Hangleton Manor but it's full of toffee nosed pricks (as you can see I never generalise!), the sort of pub where you walk in and everyone puts their drink down and looks at you like you've got your cock hanging out (that was only a one off honest...)

Used to be my local and is still the most regular boozer I frequent...The Duke of Beaufort and I am well looking forward to the world cup as it will be f***ing heaving in there
Are you sure the Manor Toffee nosed ..........where do all these upper class people come from ceratinly not the council pit that is Hangleton and I speak from experiance ages 0-22

Most Payless lunch times I seem to remember.........................

But of course! Anyother Ex-Payless worker??? Those were the days. Table tennis in the staff room or a pint in the pub? I cant believe it was 20+ years since working at that place!

the weald, burgess hill

top house is ok, but generally the standard of pubs in the town is pretty poor. if you are drinking in town, i would head for mooch, bottles of london pride, decent food and one of the most friendly places i have ever drunk

Thats MY pre-match venue as well. Chuffing expensive innit.
I'm going to swap though. It gets too MOBBED by plastic mancs whenever Manure are on Sky.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the glory hunters:D

It is quite expensive, but IMHO you get value for it. Its the best pub around this area. Ive been to all my other locals and they are not up to standard. I may see you in there Sunday.

I've been back home in Burgess for a year and a half. In that time I have not gone in one pub and have been into town twice. Tis poo.

You're not wrong there Les - I've lived here for about 5/6 years but STILL go back to HH to socialise

The Hiker's Rest is the closest but I've only been in it a couple of times.

The next closest is probably the Swan at Falmer and their anti-Albion signs, followed by the Bevendean in Moulsecoomb (which used to be my local), good place to buy stolen gear.

There really are cock-all pubs in this end of town.
