That Milwall mob are a mischievous lot aren't they, who would have thought that
Noboby likes us, we don't care
Regardless of the reasons of why they were booing they love to cause a rumpus

I would not boo an anti-racism campaign.

I will, however, boo anyone who is publicly supporting an organisation who have caused countless acts of violence across the world, expressed anti-semitic views, defaced the statues of war time heroes and seek to defund the police and abolish capitalism.

But then I don't boo much ever - maybe at pantomimes.

A more interesting question might be: would you do the knee. Or maybe: what societal pressures would make you feel obliged to do the knee even if you don't want to (as I'm sure that it's not the case that every single one of the players really agrees with it, but feels under pressure to make it look they do for an easy life).

Still everyone loves a poll..Harry should be along shortly.

I see sixteen would boo.

The sort of people who would laugh if they saw a child crying. *****.

FIRE & FURY Multiple churches ‘burned and vandalized’ across US as cops investigate possible links to statue protests

A NUMBER of Catholic churches have been torched and vandalized in the US as cops investigate whether this is linked to the ongoing statue protests.

Houses of worship are being burned after George Floyd's police custody death in Minneapolis on May 25, which sparked widespread outrage and anti-racism rallies.

Yes, we (well some of us) know there is a political organization in the US called BLM which is now overrun with goons but has nothing to do with the meme, BLM which has been around for years. You are inviting a conflation of ideas:

Black people = BLM = Trained Marxists.....

And what should we conclude? That they should be made to know their place? All antiracism should be opposed? Hmmm......

I agree that the Black Lives Matter organisation has done few favours for the larger black lives matter campaign.

But now the question for Millwall becomes what happens at their next home match. And soon you think that those at the club will wonder whether all their anti-racism efforts are a waste of time.

How can anyone boo the "act of kneeling" what is so offensive about the "act of kneeling"!?
Secondly, "we've" clearly not heard the message as there is still widespread racial inequality. How about they stop kneeling when the message is actually heard and something is actually done about it?

No you misunderstand me. I don’t think they oppose BLM or what it stands for, I think they’re booing because they’ve had enough of all this ‘taking the knee’ business before every game. As for your other comment, in that case they’ll be taking the knee forever more because, sadly, there will always be racism no matter how loudly you protest. Unfortunately you can’t force a view or an opinion onto others of a certain mindset and in some cases it will only have the opposite affect and make them even more defiant.

Is it really a question of who is in favour? The players and the game are collective making a stand. Whether you, I or anyone else is in favour or not is irrelevant if they feel they want to continue with their action. If they collectively decide to stop, so be it. I’m not sure why people are worried about it. It’s not even 10secs of time taken up before KO.

At the end of the day it’s a stand about equality. How can anyone be against equality?

Racism. Simple

(You don't have to seek out and abuse black people to be racist. Simply not giving a shit about them is enough.)

Burnley with their fly past. Millwall’s racist thugs. They are all the same. Their boos cannot be justified.

If that is so then the meme needs to rename itself as I doubt if I am the only gammon confused .

Imagine being *that* offended by a gesture that takes a few seconds, that you would actively boo yor own team for doing it.

Even if you're not a racist and you're doing it, you have to be pretty stupid. Or a snowflake.

Broflake, in this instance

(Snowflakes are Trained Marxist people like me, apparently)

The knee, it’s without doubt stimulating a lot of discussion and it’s exposing many a knuckle-head. For these two reasons it needs to continue.

Indeed.

They put out this statement on Friday to the folk who can only associate the BLM message with the US political group.

"We wish to make clear that taking the knee, for us, is in no way representative of any agreement with political messaging or ideology. It is purely about tackling discrimination, as has been the case throughout.”

It didn’t work. Because of the action of a few hundred fans, taking the knee in front of Millwall fans will never be so meaningful or effective. Those fans will get one more chance on Tuesday, the boos will ring out again which will mean that their Forest & Watford fixtures will have no fans in attendance. I think they’ll lose all three.

Are you confused? If you've listened to interviews with the likes of Ian Wright and others, on the radio, or see players taking the knee, it is surely a massive stretch to think they are all doing the bidding of a niche weird American political group. You seem to have enough skill to seek out and find all sorts of information on the web. Fill your boots.

And it isn't the meme that needs to rename itself. It has been around for many years, far more than the political organization. In much the same way, socialism doesn't need to rename itself just because of the later emergence of national socialism.

You may think of yourself as gammon, but you're better than that.

That’s nice. As Elvis Costello once said, “What’s so funny ‘bout peace, love and understanding.” Not something that appeals to you, clearly.

Excellent song and sentiments from the songwriting genius of Nick Lowe.

Back on topic though. Heartily agree with the sentiments of BLM but would like it to move forward to a "next stage"

I wonder what can be done at "person in the street" level, the majority of whom (I hope) respect others irrespective of colour and belief, to demonstrate in a practical rather than symbolic way the BLM aspirations?
