Does anyone else keep imagining McLaren holding Beckham over a cliff poised to drop into the crashing waves below?

why beckahm has been replaced with shaun wright-phillips, who has played abojut as much competitive football in the last season as i have removed sheeps testicles, is completely beyond me

Utmost respect for Beckham. He knew all this, all these headlines were likely - and could have avoided them by quitting international football at the same time he gave up the captaincy.

But unlike some others he left his hat in the ring simply because he loves playing for his country.

There's a good chance he won't play for England again - but if they ask, he'll play. Top bloke.

Listening to the news conference there seems to be a lot of spin around McClaren.

'new era', 'new beginnings', etc etc.

The stench of Clifford is overpowering.
