In what way do Man Utd represent England though? They've got American owners, Scottish manager, players from across the globe...

And as for ganging around the ref, Utd are past masters of that particular unpleasantness

Play in English league, Manchester in their name, 76,000 english fans. They are english , spine is english. They are hated in Europe as they are English

Why can't people just be allowed to cheer for or against who they like without getting a lecture from others?

A noticeable amount of their STs are held by travel firms who sell tickets to Scandinavia, Ireland and the Far East...

I'm bombarded with f***ing radio ads for United, Liverpool and Chelsea game packages daily.

Manchester United is simply a globally marketed money making brand. They are not a football club in the sense that Brighton & Hove Albion is a football club, representative of its local area and its loyal fans.

Supporting Manchester United is akin to sympathising with terrorists

It is because we are only one step up from being a Jihadist if we dare to cheer for an opponent of an English team.

Question for Dougal...

Who were you supporting in the game of Portsmouth vs AC Milan?

God I want Munich to score just to see the look on Ferguson's face. Can't believe I want a German team to score/win

What's that expression about blue torch paper?

Bayern better do this, they've got a real chance to knock out the last 'English' team here, don't waste it!

On a side note, why is Peter Drury such a pain in the arse? Every 2 minutes he's trying to make sweeping poetic statements which don't really ring true, so annoying! eg a minute ago - 'no one's enjoying this any more', 'always going to be one of those evenings where anything could happen' etc.
