Breath a sigh of relief and put it down to experience. May I suggest that the girlfriend is not much of a friend, if you have previously made it clear that you were unhappy with the arrangements?

During two years of my Uni spell, we had a stressful situation under different circumstances. One of my housemates would have his girlfriend up to stay each weekend, however, he was sleeping with another of my housemates during the week. Tension every weekend. The sad thing being that we were all friends (including the girlfriend), which complicated things.

I didn't feel that it was my role to let her know what was going on, although perhaps I should have done. Lost contact with the original couple, but due to be MC at the wedding of the 'mistress'. Never really did get an apology for their behaviour. Ho hum.

Yep, but because we had never actually said ' we want him out' nothing was done, and he just continued to freeload.
Oh well, it was our fault partially for not saying earlier we wanted to get rid of him.

This is true. I don't know if a key was cut for this guy or not...I'm not 100% sure if he did have a key cut for him.
Actually...no he didn't. Leaving the front door wide open at night is a good indication, he did not have a key for this house.
