i trust mr.bloom to make the correct decision , i would be happy for gus to stay but i don't think it is possible..........i'm afraid the clappers , the crapper and gus carrying on like a slapper have made it very difficult for him to continue.

it would be like finding your bird snogging your mate and graciously taking her back and never mentioning it again..............not gonna happen is it....???

I've been pro-Poyet for a long time. I genuinely believe there's a degree to which in the past, he has been misinterpreted in terms of 'touting himself around' - he's just too honest for his own good, and when he's asked a question he answers it. The media go straight to him on anything Chelsea and lo and behold he's accused of pimping himself about. Similarly on budgets, I see his bluster about our budget being the 15th in the division etc being more to do with playing down fan expectations, and pre-emptively slapping down agents looking for big bucks, rather than necessarily a direct challenge to Bloom to plough more cash in.

But all that said, this saga has burnt a lot of bridges. Having seen his passion and pride on St Patricks Day, it looked like he'd finally 'got' the Brighton-Palace rivalry. So to turn around and say what he said after the playoffs, when emotions were raw, understandably made a lot of people very angry, and for the first time I started to waiver. I still think he's a good manager - he's still learning his trade and he does make mistakes, but had this whole saga not blown up I would still have been very much on the Gus Bus for next season. My worry is if he comes back, whether his heart is still in it, and whether his pride will be able to deal with the probably quite mixed reaction of the fans. I doubt it. I think it's probably best he moves on, but if so, I'll remember his 3 years of great football and, by and large, success - rather than the unsavoury way it came to an end.

Top post BR, totally agree with everything you've put here.

The damage is done.

I trust Tony, but don't trust Gus.

It would be more damaging to lose a manager mid-season than now. Inevitably Gus will be highly sought after (he is a good manager), when Fulham get off to a bad start Al-Fayed approaches us, Gus leaves and we're left (potentially), top of the league without a manager.

I probably should have selected fence. Could the relationship (assuming it has broken down) be repaired? Would it be because neither wanted to blink and lose money on the deal?

This. We don't know what led to the suspension and if he did stay (which I cant see any liklihood of) then it would depend on the reason for him staying, and how the situation had been resolved, i.e. is everyone 100% happy

With only a mere 58% in favour of him (which i would have a guess at half of them picked that option cos they trust TB) it's hardly going to be a united fan base next season if he is still with us.

I don't know of any fan personally that still respects Gus.

If they do kiss and make up I'd imagine one prominent poster on here will be sh***ing like a big black Alsatian.

This, the options of the poll are a misleading representation of the feelings towards gus from a large percentage of fans

Only 1/5 seems to agree with you Kev.

I know..its crazy isn't it. Clearly 58% of people have no pride what so ever and after all this club has been through as well. They throw their support behind a tosser like Poyet , unbelievable....Anyway it doesn't matter because it isn't going to happen 1000000000% certain.

Fence.

Until such a time as the reasons are known why he was suspended I cannot make a reasoned and rational judgement.

Sensible answer but will we ever know the true reason and whats more do we need to know? I dont think so just accept TB has sorted it and is happy at the outcome it if it happens, althoug I have voted for him to stay based on that view about TB.

Has it ever crossed your mind that maybe your opinion isn't the indisputable truth?
