Shame he wont be able to sell them at Falmer:nono:

RIP Fred

He deserved to be one of the faces at Falmer.

I can remember Fred from when I was a youngster and he never seemed to get older....

The club needs to do something on Saturday-Argus! An Albion Legend.

Very sad news, he managed to get me and my dad a spare ticket for the last ever game at The Goldstone.....god bless you Fred I'll always remember the way you shouted to punters

'Argus, Football, Match or Shoot!!!!'

He deserves a minute silence so much more than people like George Best.

Very sad news. Fred was part of my childhood as I used to buy copies of Shoot from him at the Goldstone. As I got older he was always there at the County Ground, the dog track or the local racecourse to sell me an Argus.

RIP Fred - you'll be sadly missed.

Amen to that!

I really objected to the minutes silence for George Best. We even had to do it before out game on the Sunday morning.

I am genuinly gutted by that news. Great to see that picture of him at the Goldstone.

Me too-the re-birth of The Albion would have been confirmed with Fred flogging the Argus at Falmer on the first day.

RIP Fred.:(

An Albion legend in every sense of the word. Those "Argus" shouts were one of my earliest memories of the goldstone.

Very sad news, R.I.P. Fred

Wasn't he banned from the Goldstone? or rather the Argus was banned by Bellotti/Archer?

A genuine part of Albion history. His ghost will walk the touchline at Falmer and I for one will buy a paper from him.
