Cadel Evans 5/4
Denis Menchov 16/1
Vincenzo Nibali 20/1
Jurgen Van Den Broeck 20/1

That would be a quality TDF team (all be it one short). I wouldn't like to be the one to make that call.

Get Daniel Martin to switch his nationally back and you have a quality GB team.

I imagine they will wait to see who is up for it on the day, who get to go up the road in any break away in case it does not end up a spinters day, Cummings or Millar.

I don't think they'll send anyone in the break. They were very clear about their plan for the World's last year - it was Cav or bust and it will be more so in the Olympics with only 5. They'll pick Millar, Stannard and possibly Wiggins as the power to control the race with Swift as a lead out man.

Although I think Brad might rule himself out as he'll be cooked by then.

Looking at the last month, they'll have a serious job beating Sagan if he gets anywhere near it. He won't get dropped on the climb, but then again no-one will work with him in a break (except Boonen maybe).

After the Worlds, it should be The Rest of the World v Team GB.
Fortunately it won't be, but they'll be a few alliances forged, which could hurt us.

It's one thing to control a race with 9 riders and 1 job. Completely different to do it with just 5.

I think the performaces in the TDF will affect the olympic medals big time

Shit, never realised it was a broken pelvis. I thought it was in relation to his shoulder (although that was Frank wasn't it). Hope Andy heals and is able to ride at his best again.
wot second (best)

I'd love to know how this is working in Sky HQ.

The deal must be:-
Yellow Brad
Gold Cav.

But Cav doesn't get 'his' gold without the 'big boys'.
Brad doesn't get 'his' Yellow without the 'big boys'.

What gives?

I've said before.
There's no way Brad will be able to go on from Yellow.
I don't think it will necessarily be physical (as much as it obviously will be), but mentally.
Moving on from your ultimate year long goal and life time dream, not celebrating, pretending it didn't happen, just to be a foot solider for someone else, all seems unlikely to me.
All the while burning out Chris Froome.

Dave Millar could be on a team chasing back to back Grand Tours, no holding back there.

As great as the others are, they are 'foot soldiers' with probably the exception of Stannard.

That leaves Cav pretty much on his own and marked by everyone.

They said pelvis, then said a vertebrae in the pelvis so probably his sacrum. Hence how he could continue riding in the dauphine.

I thought the CdD performance was all due to a falling out with Bruyneel. Perhaps not then ?

Ah, that must be sore in the saddle.
Who had the abscess.

It might have been Greg Le Mond.

Right on the bit between his front and back bottoms.
By all accounts not a little abscess either.

It was LeMond (my childhood hero!). Apparently the mechanic cut part of his saddle away.

I think he might also have ridden a tour stage with diarrhoea and just had it running down his legs for the last hour of the stage!
