Yep, most had pretty much the same team I expect.

1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9 for the stage. Had to gamble somewhere on two different riders and Velits stitched me up. No matter, really good Paris - Nice that, both the real thing and our nip and tuck fantasy comp. Cranky should have secured it easily enough.

Yeah, a great P-N. Now to concentrate on the T-A without worrying about how 'my' team does.

It was bloody cold, and the last ten (ish) miles before the Beacon were into a freezing headwind.

It's too early in the season to ride fast up the Beacon. (Well, in my case, it's never possible to ride fast up the Beacon.)
Bold Seagull finished in 4 hrs 38 mins, I finished in 4 hrs 42mins, Hamilton in 4 hrs 53 mins, all Bronze times. Sorry SB.

We had a food stop (I know, I know...but it was COLD) - without it we would have all made the deadline for silver.

It was a good ride, and now I'm getting cramp in my thighs. It was MUCH more hilly than we'd been led to believe.

Also bumped into Spreadbetting Seagull. I don't know his time, but I think he finished before me.

Really enjoyable sportive. Great atmosphere, good route, lovely food from Infiinity, thoroughly enjoyable.

Really enjoyed the company of Pogue Mahone and his group, but as the event got fragmented I ended up getting in a group with Spreadbetting Seagull and his mate. In the end, my official time was 4.38 and a bronze medal. Having 64 miles in my legs hitting the Ditchling Beacon was hard, but I was pretty pleased to get up there in 9mins. Tactically SS got it right, he sat on his mates, then my wheel from Hassocks, then half way up the Beacon he produced an attack and left me for dead. I got up it though which was the main thing for me!

Like I said, nice event, lots of chatting round the course, definitely an annual one to enter for me I think, although hope it's warmer next year!

All of this.
Spreadbetting Seagull ...I bloody knew he'd be good up the hills.

That's true, my Strava time which I paused for the food stop was 4.15mins actual ride time (oh and I needed about 2 other wee breaks!).

Hats off to the sportive riders :clap2:

I haven't been out on my bike for a proper ride other than the commute for the best part of 2 months I think. Discovered that pleasure rides in freezing cold weather are just not..well, very pleasurable for me.

Massive well done to today's riders. Was a lot colder than it looked and looks like a monster of a ride.

I passed a number of riders as I travelled to see my folks this morning. Either a coincidence they were out nearby, or they'd made a wrong turn (if the route I saw on line was accurate) as they were all heading towards and into Groombridge.

I don't think that the REALLY expensive stuff will come out for a couple of months.

I think my Roubaix is quite sexy.

What I noticed most was the amount of new-looking carbon-aero wheels - some particularly lovely Reynolds ones. And I thought that I was 'satisfied' with what I've got.

Time to replenish the Black-ops fund.

It was quite well signed, so that would have been a massive mistake...several miles off course!

I hope they were doing something else.

Yes, looks like they were on the VO2 Sportive 120KM. From the map though 'all' you'd have needed to have done was take the right fork at Kings Standing at the 20 mark.

Both rides look superb but would result either in a DNF and/or a trip in an ambulance for me. Massive respect to those who turned out.
