Me I think, even though I live nowhere near East London

Oh you do surprise me.

'You're gay!' 'Yeah, well you're inbred!'

Apart from the fact that no one ever accused you of being gay...!

And you are right I have nothing to say about Brighton no opinions whatsoever. I am just pointing out that anecdotally speaking in terms of messageboards you are the worst bunch of fans I've ever come across.

And boring as well. If you must indulge in the Pikeys, inbred, northern monkeys, BNP thing try and be a little bit funny as well. It just seems more friendly!

Anyway all the best for the rest of the season...! Khuda Hafiz

I think you are getting just a little paranoid my boy, I have not mentioned 'gay' or being accused thereof once on this thread, I suggest you read back (if you can read). In fact that's a confusing flounce you have had there. On the meths?

That would be civil war with the National (well Burnley) Socialists (cough) wouldn't it?

Its grim up north. The BNP started off left of centre and then moved towards the right.

It's funny how different sets of fans view things differently. NSC can be a vitriolic place at times I agree but most of us were utterly amazed at the reaction of your fans today. I will concede Vicente went down easily twice and appealed for an undeserved free kick. But Dicker was booed after being fouled (your player got a yellow) El-Abd was booed after a two footed lunge from your striker after the ball had gone. As the game went on you seemed to whip yourself up into a frenzy of indignation for no apparent reason. From our point of view the blatant time wasting and bad tackles were worse than Vicente going down easy but worse than all of that was the open hostility to any Brighton fan after the game about our teams supposed antics. I have NEVER seen such vitriol, and this from a team that won! So please consider forgiving some people on here for resorting to the regional abuse

I think this sums it up tbh.

Paddy B I can guarantee that 99% of the regional 'abuse' is just taking the piss. They call us soft southern shandy whatevers, we call them northern monkeys since time immemorial. It's not even abusive, pikeys, inbreds can be classed as rude at the worst and you don't have to be a northerner to be called that! The puff thing doesn't have the slightest bearing on me, if they want to refer to me as a breakfast cereal then fine. But hearing them on the radio working themselves into frenzies when it was quite clear their teams job today was to break up play and get the ref whistling as much as possible, shows their tactics to be some what desperate. But they still manage to have this vain in their necks throbbing and pulsing to a diameter well outside the norm. Reminds me of that angry character from Harry Enfield. OIIIIII Richards NOOOOO!! And this has been backed up by those of you who went and felt intimidated by a club that is obviously still stuck somewhere in the 80's. All very strange stuff.

I know you are not really interested but Burnley has been a Labour town for decades to the extent that like many Northern towns there was no real democracy in the town. In other words the Conservatives barely get a vote and not one had heard of the Liberal democrats. The BNP vote was a protest vote because in Burnley you don't vote Tory. As it happens once there was a liberal consciousness most people switched from the BNP to the Liberals. Of course if you come from the racist perspective then this is counter intuitive people don't go from a BNP vote to a Liberal vote but that's what has happened in Burnley. Of course there are racists and homophobes there are everywhere.

And to be fair London you have your own issues in the East end as well.

And the reason why I am on here is because you p*ssed me off with your nastiness even though I am from Burnley and as the song goes people really do seem to hate us. As I say I hope you get promoted.

f*** off

I think they're getting their northern long johns in a twist...

Brighton - surprisingly nastiest fans of them all? - Burnley FC forum from footymad.net

Hypocritically, ironically, however you wish to put it, they are saying how nasty we are on NSC with quite a lot of abuse towards us.

Them there northerners is strange bints innit!

Judging by this thread so far and a couple of others it is hardly surprising is it.

Frankly it is embarrassing to be part of NSC chat sometimes. Can we not show some class? or at least some originality. Pikies, inbreds etc etc get wheeled out for every team we lose to (or say some mean things about us!) it really is pathetic.

I agree with this. But I think some of the posts can be explained (not condoned) by the reasons I stated earlier combined with being fuelled by Alcohol. Still I must learn not to come on here after we have lost!
