It's disgraceful, how dare she insult our black friends like that.

Personally I think she's got away with it being allowed to leave as she did, I am sure after saying what she said the british public would have booted her out, probably with a record ever percentage and the crowd should have been ready with rocks and hot bovril to throw at her.

The bookies and online polls had Emily and Shabnam pretty even, so it would have been close. However, I think the '******' quote would have sealed her fate .

It happened at 3.30am, she had her guard down. BB could have hauled her in, dressed her down, spoken with Charley and Nicky and, assuming Emily had issued an apology, engineered a "making up and moving on" between the three girls. But the CRE is king now, so they booted her out.

It's ironic that she said in the house she's not the sort of girl to flirt sexually or get her baps out, yet because of her racist outburst her only chance of earning from BB will be the lads mags...who will want her to get her baps out and flirt sexually with the readers.

Sounds about right.

Will probably start off with a Sun or Mirror "My stupid race mistake", followed up this wknd by a Screws of the World Exclusive "My cocaine lesbian romp shame" and then onto the lads mags. And of course the obligatory ex-boyfriend kiss and tells.

Maybe the CRE should be a bit more even-handed and have a pop at some of the gangsta rap record labels.

Those labels are the only ones keeping the "****** / nigga" word going, otherwise it would probably have disappeared from British vocabulary a long time ago, just like coon, schwarz, nig-nog and wog have done (thankfully!).

Absolutely. This is a world apart from the Jade/Shilpa bullying. The context was fairly innocent but Channel 4 are not going to take any chances.

Hopefully she'll learn to stop shooting her mouth off. She's a bit of a silly little girl really.

Emily is removed from Big Brother after using a racially offensive word.

Contestant Emily Parr was removed from the Big Brother House in the early hours of this morning after using a racially offensive word to a fellow housemate.

Emily was with Charley and Nicky in the garden of the Big Brother House at approximately 8.30pm last night when she was heard to say "Are you pushing it out you ******?" to Charley.

Emily immediately made clear that she had not intended to offend and that the comment had been meant as a joke. In discussing what she had said, Charley and Nicky agreed that they were not personally offended, although both did express shock at the language she had used. In the ensuing discussion, Emily acknowledged that she should have been more careful with her words.

The comment was not screened as part of the 'as live' streaming on E4 and was immediately reported up to senior production staff at Brighter Pictures, the Endemol UK subsidiary that produces the show. In consultation with senior executives at Channel 4 the decision was taken to remove Emily from the House on the grounds that she had broken the rules governing contestant behaviour.

The House Rules given to all contestants clearly state:

Big Brother will intervene and take appropriate action if housemates behave in a way that Big Brother considers is unacceptable. Unacceptable behaviour includes: behaving in a way that could cause serious offence to either their fellow housemates or members of the viewing public including serious offence based on the grounds of race. Housemates who act in a way that is seriously unacceptable will be evicted.

Emily was called to the Diary Room at approximately 03.30am to be informed of the decision and was removed from the House immediately without further contact with other contestants. The remaining housemates were informed of Big Brother's decision at approximately 9.30am.

Emily was one of two housemates nominated for eviction this week and as a result the latest eviction vote has been suspended.

Angela Jain, who heads the Big Brother commissioning team at Channel 4, said: "I think people watching the show tonight will agree that Emily spoke carelessly rather than maliciously - certainly Charley and Nicky, the two housemates most directly involved in the conversation with her, seem to accept that she did. She understands why her involvement in Big Brother has had to come an end and she very much regrets what she said."

"In the wake of Celebrity Big Brother we must consider the potential offence to viewers regardless of Emily's intentions and her housemates' response. The word ****** is clearly racially offensive and there was no justification for its use. We have removed Emily from the house to once again make it clear to all housemates and the viewers at home that such
behaviour won't be tolerated."

Shame they don't seem to care when Jade 'the Pig' Goody says anything like that.

Nice Arse, average boat.

Large ego, high opinion of self, annoying voice.

Stupid mistake = bye, bye.

No great loss.

This incident should at least spell the end for all of those whingeing contestants we've had over the years, the latest of which is the tedious Shabnam.

Instead of bleating "Please nominate me, please let me go!" for days all they need to is square it with the other housemates so there's no ill-feeling and then shout "NiggerNiggerNiggerNiggerNigger!" until they are called to the diary room.

No one in the house is offended but instant ejection will result, and BB will be made to look even more of an ass.

If the thread is sparking off a good mass debate then why can't it be left until it drops down the board a bit then it can be moved to the BB thread. There are a lot of good points being made and the issue affects a lot of people. It's current news, so I say leave this thread alone until later.

Be honest, who reads the BB thread. It's way too quiet. If you want to read a busy BB thread then people will use Digital Spies http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=45
