The one shame about the Bradford thing is that, according to the FSA, they didn't afford the away fans the same reduction in ticket prices as the home support. So you travel further, then pay more to watch the same game from often the worst part of the stadium.

Pity, because the figure shows the support is still there for clubs even at the arse end of League 2, if the pricing's right - the League should force clubs who offer substantial discounts to home games to make the same offer to the away support on that day.

Remember when Forest did it for a Tuesday game up there? £5 to get in, every seat in the ground taken, including in our section, cracking atmosphere, even the players responded with a corker of a game.

Clubs are permitted a limited number of home-only special offers per season. The Football League rules (31.2.11) state: “Discounts or special promotions (in each case for one match only) made available to supporters of the Home Club must also be made available on a similar basis to visiting supporters provided always that each Club shall be permitted to designate four (4) matches per season as ‘local promotion’ Matches where this regulation shall be deemed not to apply.”

The FSF are not a big fan of this rule however.

Receipts are a better statistic, it's in Gazzetta Dello Sport for every Serie A match at least (as well as 2 or 3 completely separate full match reviews from different journalists) one day someone over here will follow suit

I'm not surprised the FSA are not fans of that rule, Bozza. Given the (relatively) small percentage of most gates, particularly in Leagues One and Two, that the away support represents at many games, how financially damaging can it be giving them the same privileges? I don't understand that four game rule at all - what's to stop, for example, Club A deciding that their annual fixture against Club B is the least attractive of the season and always designating that as one of the four, thereby continually penalising the same travelling supporters season after season?
