Depending on your bank they will probably only offer you a "goodwill sum" and it's likely to be about half of what you have spent.
It's up to you then whether you want to chance it and ask for more.

Also does this overpayment of charges relate to businees accounts. ie can I claim that back as well?
Finally to those that are now complaining about having to pay for their accounts. Its people and businesses like me that have meant free banking for you free loaders for the last 20 years.
